For the "Blue" random event...

Sun Jul 25, 2004 9:07 am

I'm sure I've seen the answer to this question before, but I can't remember for sure what it is, so bear with me please.

Is there any way to decrease your pet's happiness level? My lab pet is currently a checkered chomby. I just hate that color, and I'm quite willing to sacrifice his happiness for a chance at a free color change. Blue will be MUCH easier on the eyes.

Shame on you....

However...

I believe feeding them poisonous jelly or rotten omelettes makes them ill, which once they are ill, they become unhappy very fast if not cured.

Please don't be mean to your pets :( Makes me sad!! And them too!

lol!!

To be fair, I've been waiting for a week or so to see if the lab will make him a nice color, but so far no go, and I'm getting impatient. ^^;

However, I promise that once he's a nice, soothing shade of blue, I'll cure him right away and then take him on all the Roo Island Carousel rides he wants. XD lol

Thanks for your answer, btw.

Only a week?

If you're a little more patient, that lab ray will surprise you :)

Trust me, this coming from someone who has been labbing for almost a full year. You will get so many things, just not once a week!!!

Kimberly, I'm just curious, how often does the lab ray drop pets to level 1? It's happened to me twice in the last week.

Lab ray does it often if you're pet is below lvl 5 I believe.

Hmm be patient when zapping. And on the bright side, while you wait, your pet's stats will be upped.

I feel the Lab Ray is completely random. If we collectively kept stats, we'd probably find there isn't anything consistent happening to those of us that lab regularly.

So in stating that, I feel like there was a brief period of time where I felt like my labbed pet was reset to level 1 a few times too many, then all of a sudden it stopped, and hasn't happened since.

Probably not the answer you were looking for eh?

Here's my best (approx) guesses on one pet over the course of 2 months...

Changed gender = 11%
Changed species = 2%
Changed color = 5%
Changed levels = 20%
Nothing happened = 2%
Defense, movement, etc. = 60%

Did I miss anything? I know that some actually keep track dailly, maybe one day I will purely for stats sake.

*sigh*

Ok, you wouldn't have any tips for actually obtaining the Blue RE, would you?

lol

I know letting your Neopet play with Broken Toys makes them very unhappy. ;)

Its a random event aswell...

My plushie pet is unhappy, always unhappy and I havn't gotten that RE.

Sun Jul 25, 2004 12:55 pm

Yep.. it's completely random. Just because its unhappy won't guaratntee the color change.

I still think that when they're unhappy, they should turn the sad grey color, not blue! The blue pets look happy, but the grey ones are so sad...

Yeah, I've also heard that it doesn't matter what their happiness level is. My friend got the RE and her pet was "joyful". Just in case though, I feed my pets smiley neggs. :)

I believe you have to get to lvl 10 before you're safe from that one

Well that's pretty disturbing.
I remember the announcment about that Random Event leading us to believe that it was more of a punishment for people who didn't keep their pets happy. Not something that would be a terror to those upstanding neopians who are good to their pets.

Good point! You should submit that to the NT!

Anyway, my lab pet has been at "miserable" for 2 weeks and I've yet to get that RE.
