i think many players have gotten smart after what happened in the past. abusing glitches were fun really, i can imagine so long as you don't do it for gains. hence i suspect many players created new accounts or use a side account to do those freebies multiple times. it may release pent-up frustrations when you don't get a paintbrush from the fruit machine in years and you want to see how many spins you need to get that paintbrush. of course, whatever you get from abusing that glitch, just leave them be and self-freeze after you have all your fun. that said, i was too caught up in the restock every minute challenge to go the length of creating a new account to abuse glitches for fun.

Such mass hysteria! It's almost amusing...almost.

[But here's an idea kids: if you're so afraid of being frozen don't consciously abuse bugs. o_O Or maybe I’m just missing something…]

Well, the employees went to work to fix the bugs, you think that whoever owns Neopets now wants to pay them overtime so they can freeze people?

I doubt it, however, even if they created a seperate account to do the freebie glitch, they can still get frozen. They'd still (most likely) have the same IP address.

I'm not expecting an "Ice Monday" or anything, but I'd be very dissapointed if they didn't ice some of the people who abused the Tombola and Scratchcard glitches.

hmmm...the same "IP" address thingie..

i remembered neomailing dragona5, a neopets staff about a certain scam once regarding a scammer who transferred a scammed item to another account. i questioned the possibility of sabotage should the scammer decide to transfer the item randomly. dragona5 replied that she does et the support staff to check the IP address of the item transferred.

hence, the idea was that connectivity between 2 accounts is also considered other than IP addresses. as long as you ensure there's no other connectivity (ie transfer of item) between 2 accounts, then it should be ok. then again, i am not encouraging players to do risky things like this.

Unfortunately, the smart scammers know how to change/hide their IP addresses. Actually, even the dumb ones are catching on since there are GUIDES WRITTEN BY OTHER SCAMMERS. Yup, we have game guides, they have guides to using proxies.

Anyways I digress. I played my one Tombola spin and have nothing to worry about.

....Unless I bought a PB or some other glitch-abused item, which will dissapear from my inventory and perhaps land me in iceland as well. Damn. Now I'm paranoid.

Well there have already been some freezings due to people taking advantage of the tombola/omelette/scratchcard glitches. I expect more will come.

The boards are kind of pathetic, really. Funny at first, but lost the giggle value pretty early on for me. The rumor that Monday morning will be ice central, that only people who visited tombola, etc. 5 or less times will be "ok", all the speculation is making people crazy. They're starting new accounts and moving everything they can to it (not that it would help if they did get frozen for this), disowning their pets, giving things away, or getting angry and blaming TNT for the "glitch" and saying no one should be frozen. Makes you wonder just how many times those people did exploit the glitches that they now have to try to justify cheating.

Then there's alot of people afraid of being frozen because they restocked! I highly doubt that would happen to the honest players (thinks about an empty site as everyone was trying to restock yesterday). Only in the case of someone who used an ab during the constant restocking. Especially when no one could buy anything, yet some of the really high priced, rare items were disappearing from the shops. That was absolute brilliance on the part of TNT if they did that deliberately (which I'm guessing they did). I think the whole constant restock was one big test to see what system would work to stop the ab'ers and seeing who was in fact using one.

hopefully it was a plan by TNT and they have caught a whole load of AB users, and hopefully they'll come up with some more ways of stopping them to make RS-ing fair on all the honest players

Fallen, from many of the posts I've seen the only thing the people who took advantage are regretting is getting caught. Greed is a terrible thing!

Oh the other advice people are giving/getting is to self-freeze if they did cheat. Theory being that if you self-freeze, you'll be able to get your account back (and get away with cheating). I think they'd be in for a rude surprise, as I remember reading something once that TNT posted saying that self-freezing wouldn't do any good if you were caught cheating. You'd still be frozen forever, the acount would not be returned.

i don't think autobuyers will be caught out with a tombola glitch, because they generally would be programmed to go every 24 hours.

lol, i wonder if anyone fell for the "i'll adopt your pets" one :P

If you see my sanity, get it to give me a call.

I don't this this "Ice Age" is going to happen anymore, since they already updated the news, meaning somebody has to be in the office.

people have auto daily bots??! omg, that's seriously over the top, it's not like it's a hard thing to do, just make a list of links in your favourites or whatever. I can kinda understand why people use ABs (not that i ever would, i'm happy slowly saving my np), but that just makes no sence to me!

They made the news automatic didnt they? so they set it up before they left and it automatiaclly got updated at a certain time....?
