Brightvale, release on August 11, 2004, is a peaceful kingdom ruled by the wise King Hagan. Like their king, the citizens of Brightvale value knowledge and wisdom above all else. Because of this, Brightvale has a nearly endless supply of well educated scholars.  This prosperous land is also famous for its beautifully crafted stained glass windows. Each year the Discovery of Brightvale is celebrated on it's release day anniversary.

Brightvale, a Neopian world discovered on 11th August 2004, is an almost Utopian kingdom of scholars and fine arts ruled by King Skarl's older brother King Hagan. The first glass windows came from this kingdom, and every year on 11th August a festival is held commemorating its discovery. Brightvale's colours are green and white, and its flag consists of a triangle of white over a triangle of green, defaced with a star.
When it was first released users could only access Brightvale by clicking on a special signpost in Meridell. However, on June 24, 2006, Brightvale became directly accessible from the main map of Neopia and can be found 50 miles southwest of Meridell.

Attractions in Brightvale include the Wheel of Knowledge, Brightvale Castle, and numerous shops: the Royal Potionery, The Scrollery, the Brightvale Armoury, Brightvale Books, Brightvale Fruits, the Brightvale Motery, and Brightvale Glaziers.

History
Unlike the neighbouring kingdom of Meridell, Brightvale is best known for its well-educated populace. The kingdom is ruled by King Hagan, who is brother to Meridell's ungainly King Skarl. King Hagan feels embarrassment over his family ties and therefore does not have a close relationship with Skarl.

Although close to Meridell, the two kingdoms have very little else in common. The citizens of Brightvale celebrate knowledge and learning above all else, treasuring their fine literature and history. From the outside, many other Neopians seem to look down upon the residents of Brightvale, thinking them snobbish, though Brightvalers appear to neither notice nor care.

Yooyuball
Yooyuball
Brightvale's Yooyuball team is known for being the most crooked lineup of cheating and rough players, despite being the land of wisdom and learning. They know the rules of the game very well, and use it to their advantage by giving sharp jabs to the ribs when no one's looking and other such tricks to win. Their reputation of rough playing is even greater than Darigan Citadel and the Haunted Woods.
Team Brightvale

After being defeated by the Haunted Woods in Round Two of the 2006 games, Brightvale claimed to have learned the error of their ways for many different reasons (not wanting to shame King Hagan, their tactics were no match for the tournament's better teams, increased popularity means more merchandise sales, etc.). Taking a cue from "Squeaky" Tressif, they turned over a new leaf and decided to play fair. While their playing style during the regular season indicates they've cleaned up their act, one can't help but suspect they've still got a trick or two up their sleeves for the tournament of 2007.

*"Squeaky" Tressif - Left Defender, Team Captain
Though they were famous for their shady tactics and foul play in 2006, Brightvale's Yooyuball team has since turned over a new leaf and abandoned their cheating ways. The team has had  relatively poor performances in last several Altador Cup tournaments, and due to a decree by King Hagan, the team did not participate in the 2009 games at all.
