The Snowager is a giant ice worm who lives in the Ice Caves, guarding an enormous hoard of treasure. Cold as ice and extremely mean, the Snowager is renowned for its freezing cold breath. While he sleeps for only a few hours a day, players may choose those times to approach and try to steal some of his hoard. The Snowager may be based on the dragons of European folklore, who in many stories - Beowulf, Fafnir - guarded treasure. ==Snowager's Cave==

The Snowager's Cave was added to the Ice Caves map on January 11, 2001. Through this cave is where the ice worm was first introduced.
The Snowager first appeared when his cave was added to the Ice Caves map on January 11, 2001. In it, the Snowager guards his treasure from any user who would want to take some of it.

The Snowager only sleeps between 6-7 AM, 2-3 PM, and 10-11 PM, Neopia Standard Time. During these times, it is possible to sneak in and grab a prize from the pile of treasure he rests on. Prizes range from neggs to medicine to plushies. Anyone who attempts to steal some of his treasure runs the risk of waking the Snowager, and he may deal damage to a user's active Neopet, or all of a user's Neopets, by delivering a powerful icy blast.

Being blasted by the Snowager allows the user to challenge him in the Battledome. It also has a chance of awarding the user with an avatar.

The player may attempt to steal one piece of treasure every time the Snowager sleeps.

Winter Starlight Celebration
The Snowager only sleeps between 6-7 AM, 2-3 PM, and 10-11 PM, Neopia Standard Time. During these times, it is possible to sneak in and grab a prize from the pile of treasure he rests on. Prizes range from Neggs to medicine to plushies. The Snowager can also wake up and deal damage to your active pet, or even to all of them, by delivering a powerful icy blast.
In December 2011, as a part of the Winter Starlight Celebration, the Snowager went into hibernation for the month. This meant users could visit at any time of the day and attempt to steal a prize. Initially, users could try every two hours - this was later fixed to only allow one attempt per day. This has re-occurred every year since.

The Snowager is a non-player character in NeoQuest II. He keeps order in Terror Mountain by clearing the roads of avalanches and eating various monsters that prowl the roads. At the beginning of the act he has gone missing - imprisoned by Scuzzy in his cave. When Rohane defeats Scuzzy, the Snowager can clear the cave-in keeping him trapped and the act is complete.
The Snowager is an NPC in NeoQuest II, and contrary to his terrorising role in the Ice Caves, in the simulation he keeps order in Terror Mountain's roads of avalanches, as well as eating various monsters in the mountain, which are actually the ship's data routes and the ship's viruses respectively.  He is imprisoned by Scuzzy and it is the job of Rohane and his party to defeat Scuzzy and free the Snowager. After Scuzzy is defeated the Snowager is free and reveals himself as a sentient program in charge of maintaining the ship's computers, but that a virus has been installed and now has control of the ship's computers.

The Snowager explains that his role in the ship's computer is to maintain the data lines and defeat rogue programmes - in the analogy of the simulation, clearing the roads and eating the monsters. A virus was introduced in the computer that he was unable to defeat, and he was trapped in a data loop - the cave. The virus is now in control of the ship's computer - the sentinel programme, in the guise of the Snowager, explains that it is up to Rohane to defeat it by entering the computer again in the rest of the  simulations he was now able to unlock.

After act three, when the ship's crew has cleared the sandstorm in the Lost Desert, the sentinel programme appears again as the Snowager on a monitor to explain what has happened - the sandstorm represented random data that was clogging the ship's network, and now that Rohane has cleared it, the various ships systems can communicate again. When Talinia accesses the ship's scanners, she realises they are headed for a collision course with a star: the Snowager explained that they only had a few hours left before the heat melted the hull. He unlocked the Haunted Woods simulation, believing it would explain why the doors were locked.
