The '''Meepit''' is a [[Spooky Petpet]] released on August 30, 2001 with large unblinking black eyes, short front limbs, stout bodies, and large hind feet. There is something awfully spooky about those big staring eyes…

Despite their innocuous appearance, they have developed a reputation for being members of a large, malevolent circle with various postulated aims - including [[Neopia|world domination]] and miscellaneous association with [[Dr. Sloth]]. This is spurred on by their consistent, unblinking stare that is often seen as unnerving.

This [[Wikipedia:Fear, uncertainty and doubt|perceived threat]] is likely intended to comically make up for their otherwise not scary appearance - on the face of it, a wide eyed, short-armed pink body is not typical of malevolent monsters.

However, the Meepit was originally introduced on October 15, 2001 in [[NeoQuest I]], as the members of a tribe of beasts called ''Pygmies''. In the [[game]], the ferocious creatures took over a research centre in Ancient Neopia, which eventually became known as the [[Jungle Ruins]]. Their portrayal as vicious creatures here may be the source of [[Neopia]]s perceived fears.

The Meepit has a rarity of 98, making it a very rare and expensive Petpet, costing around 3 million [[Neopoint|Neopoints]] at the [[Trading Post]] as of June 2007. Years before the [[NeoQuest Hero]] appeared, pygmy tribes were taken to the research centre (which would become the Jungle Ruins), and lived in the jungle surrounding it. they were peaceful at first, but become violent, and were held back until [[Rollay Scaleback]] struck a deal with [[Kreai]] to help him overthrow his masters. The pygmies helped and eventually betrayed him, and have made the ruins of the research center their home.
The hero has to fight with 8 types of pygmies: vulgar pygmy, shaman, greater shaman, pygmy chief, pygmy warrior, pygmy sage, pygmy elder and a skeletal shaman.

Ghost Meepits were central to the task of locating [[Ilere]]'s home deep in the Haunted Woods. Users had to navigate their way through a maze of trees collecting all seven Meepits by feeding them Ghost Meepit Juice. After locating Ilere's front door, the Meepits had to be arranged on the spots of light until all seven started to dance. This would open the door and conclude the plot step.

The '''Hidden Tower''' is an invisible tower located in [[Faerieland]], part of [[Fyora]]'s palace. Opened to the public on January 17, 2001, the Hidden Tower stores a variety of magical artifacts Fyora sells in order to raise money for Faerieland. The majority of these items are [[Battledome Equipment]], of which are a collection of the most powerful in the [[Battledome]], making them highly sought by users.

The Hidden Tower stood for many years completely forgotten in a hidden courtyard overrun with weeds. One of the reasons it lay undisturbed for so long was its invisible enchantment. It was rediscovered by Fyora's maid [[Celandra]] when she found a trapdoor hiding behind a bookshelf, and while cleaning saw a pair of shadows walk through a doorway which appeared from out of nowhere. The original purpose of the tower is not known, but it is assumed to be an armoury of rare and dangerous weapons, a storehouse to keep items safe from others, or as a hiding place.

==Stock==
Items in the Hidden Tower have an item rarity of 200 and cannot be obtained through [[Random Event]]s. They are very expensive with prices ranging from a few hundred thousand to sixteen million [[neopoints]]. Items will not be for sale some of the time for Fyora to restock, though this is just a formality as unlike regular Neopian [[shop]]s, there is effectively an unlimited supply of the items users can buy until they are [[retired]].

The Hannah and the Ice Caves Release Tournaments were held October 30, 2004. All players received a Red [[Bori]] promo card and a [[Hannah]] and Bori lanyard. Prizes included ''Hannah and the Ice Caves booster packs'' and the first place winner took home a ''Hannah and the Ice Caves Snow Globe Trophy''.

As the only officer who survived a the a ship wreck with one third of the passengers, he kept a log of their attempts to survive against the natives, witch doctors, and a fiery spirit in the jungles. His last entry detailed a small group of survivors being captured by natives during the night, and that he "must rescue her", ''her'' being his bride (or so it's believed). After this, there are no more entries in the journal.

Draiks appeared in [[Neopia]] without any warning, seeming to come from another world (later found out to be [[Meridell]]). Featured primarily as knights and castle guards in Meridell Castle, Draiks are curious Neopets that love to hunt, but never know what to do with their prey once they catch it. They also love going on adventures which can take them far away from home. It's also assumed the average Draik to be 3 feet tall as shown by the [[Neopets TCG]] card [http://www.neopets.com/tcg/displayCard.phtml?edid=2&id=5 Draik Soldier].

Draiks were released as [[Limited Edition]] Neopets along with [[Ixi]]s, but while Ixis are now available normally, no more Draiks have been released. Instead, they are available by visiting the [[Draik Nest]] with a '''Draik Egg''', allowing it to hatch (similar to the way a [[Krawk (Neopet)|Krawk]] is received). Besides hatching a Draik from a Draik Egg, a user can also buy a [[Morphing Potion]] to change their Neopet, or take them to the [[Lab Ray]]. All methods, however, are expensive, as the Lab Ray is in high demand and Draik Eggs and Morphing Potions are in limited number. During [[Neopets: The Darkest Faerie]], The Darkest Faerie escaped from her imprisonment under the sea when Jerdana's Orb fell from her neck. Soon after that, she washed up on the shores of [[Meridell]], claiming she was going to make everything dark and twisted. After [[Illusen]]'s charm was stolen by the [[Werelupe King]], nothing could stop The Darkest Faerie from taking over the land, and she quickly covered Meridell in a dark purple cloud, tainting all inhabitants under them with her evil. Thanks to Tormund and Roberta she was imprisoned in stone.

===Altador Plot===

In the [[Altador Plot]], users were required to find The Darkest Faerie's contellation, known as ''The Sleeper''. Finding her constellation began to break down a spell that was cast over Altador to cover up it's history.

On the 28th of March, a new link was discovered on the [[Altador]] map that led to the ''Restive Tomb''. Clicking one of the holes in the center of the door would reveal the pattern of the first constellation. Go back to the Archivist then to the observatory. Find the constellation and report back to the Astronomy Club. The gems above the Darkest Faerie statue now glow and ''The Sleeper'' chapter in the ''Book of Ages'' is filled in.
