Neopia Central is the meeting point of all commerce activity in Neopia. It is where all of the main shops are, as well as the National Neopian Bank, the Neolodge, the Notice Board, the Auction House, and a lot more. To access it, just click the "Shops" button on the top Sidebar on any normal Neopets page.
Neopia Central spans into four other sections of shops. These are the Bazaar, Plaza, Marketplace, and Catacombs. In each of these contain links to more shops and other popular destinations in Neopia such as the Pet Central and NeoLodge.

Trivia
*Neopia Central is the cheapest place to build a neohome.
*On May 3, 2006, the following maps changed:
**Neopia Central (hospital removed, and shops moved around)
**The Neopian Bazaar (completely new map, with same shop layout)
**The Neopian Plaza (shopping section of Neopia Central, containing the more random stores)
*Neopia Central was nominated for the Best Place to Live category during the 2008 Neopies.
*Neopia Central does not have an Altador Cup team.
:This article is about the plot details of the Altador Cup in 2006. For information about Yooyuball, see Altador Cup.

Altador Cup I was a gaming plot which occurred between June 1, 2006 and August 4, 2006, and the first installation of the Altador Cup.

Plot summary
On June 2 all teams from around Neopia gathered to practice for the games ahead of them, and countless Neopians gathered to watch their favourites take the field. Between practices, most of the players would go and meet their fans, signing autographs. Five days later and the day before the games began, Kiko Lake's Left Forward Holbie Pinnock was injured due to Relle Felson's sling breaking and flying off into Holbie's head, taking him out of the games. Helmo Timm, the one Holbie was replacing, immediately asked to be put back in the game to play, or Kiko Lake would likely not win their games.

On June 9 the first round matches of the Altador Cup tournament begun. Among the eight match ups, two showed to be very interesting. First was "The Moon vs. The Goons," or the Haunted Woods versus Kreludor. It was uncertain who would win, but it would be entertaining. Second was Brightvale and Kiko Lake. With Kiko Lake suffering from a recent string of injuries fans were devastated to learn they were facing Brightvale in Round One, who are notorious for their roughhouse tactics. They were certainly going to take a cheap shot at Timm and put her back on the sidelines for good.

The first round of games ended on June 13. The biggest surprise of the first round was Krawk Island's defeat of Altador. Early in the game, Altador showed no effects from not playing in 1000 years, staggering Krawk Island with their display of passes and shots. Krawk Islander eventually made a comeback, however, and the game's deciding score was a goal by Krawk Island's "Dasher" Soley, who sent a one-timer sailing past Altador's diving goalie after curling around a screen and receiving a perfect pass from defender Nitri Cassale. Altador attempted to mount a final rally as time ran out, but Garvin Hale easily preserved the win with a routine save.

Faerieland's trio of undersized forwards were no match for the brute strength of Mystery Island's Volgoth, blasting through Faerieland's defence and leading Mystery Island to a surprisingly lopsided win. Despite the effort of Helmo Timm, Kiko Lake's offense was unable to generate an attack against Brightvale's defence. Though disappointed by the loss, many of Kiko Lake's fans said they were thankful that Timm was able to play the whole game without suffering any further injuries, who promised they'd be back better than ever next year.

Darigan's defenders broke Terror Mountain's spirit early in the match, making them look unusually disorganised even by Terror Mountain's usual standards. It didn't take long for the match to turn into a rout, and by that point it was obvious Terror Mountain had given up and simply "mailing this one in." The closest match of the first round took place between Kreludor and the Haunted Woods. Despite coming into the contest as serious underdogs, Kreludor showed no fear as they chipped away at one of the tournament's most vaunted defences. Kreludor managed to stay in the game till the very end, when a breakaway goal by Zo Junior sealed the victory for the Haunted Woods.

The Space Station's fate was sealed when none of their offensive players were able to step up when Lost Desert double-teamed Keetra Deile. With their star forward neutralized, scores by Azar and Cayle proved to be more than enough fire-power for the Lost Desert to earn the win.

Meridell took an early lead, as Maraqua's defenders were outclassed by King Skarl's trio of speedy forwards. However, Elon Hughlis single-handedly got Maraqua back in the game, despite being double and triple teamed the entire match. In the end Hughlis's effort fell short, as he was simply unable to keep pace with the Meridell all by himself.

The second biggest surprise of the knock-out round came from Roo Island's ability to overcome Tyrannia's talented defence. Time after time, Forward Lilo Blumario would either draw a double team and then pass to an unguarded team mate (who more often than not made the most of their scoring opportunity) or, facing only single coverage, blow past his defender for a shot at the goal. With the first round drawn to a close, early speculation of who would win the tournament's Most Valuable Player award were centred on forwards Lilo Blumario , "Dasher" Soley , and Volgoth.

Round 2 matches (the Quarter-finals) began on June 15 and ended on June 20, with the following match ups: Krawk Island faced off against their neighbours, Mystery Island, who after easily beating Faerieland in the knock-out round was a favourite to win. Thanks to the goal tending of Garven Hale who played a spectacular game (even by his standards), who stopped many point-blank shots from Mystery Island's duo of Volgoth and Nix to preserve the win.

Meridell and the Darigan Citadel faced off this round as well, with high tensions considering they fought in Champions of Meridell and Battle for Meridell. Darigan Citadel pulled through however, lead the way by Layton Vickles who broke through the Meridell defence to score a trio of goals (referred to by some as a "hat trick"), putting to rest any talk of their previous tendency to fail in the face of a worthy opponent.

Brightvale and the Haunted Woods faced off, and being two of the toughest teams to score against many believe it would be a match with little scoring, but very physical. This was half right, as the Haunted Woods stopped the Brightvale offense while the Haunted Woods' passing and well prepared offence were not stopped by Brightvale's underhanded tactics. It was believed before the match begun the victor would stagger into the next round completely exhausted and probably defeated by their next opponent.

The Lost Desert faced off against Roo Island, and tried the same tactic they used against Keetra Deile and cripple their offence. However, even being double and triple-teamed for the entire game Blumario was still able to create enough offensive opportunities for his team mates, along with assistance of Fenny Vail who took up the slack of scoring while the Lost Desert covered Lilo Blumario. Roo Island won the match to the surprise of nearly everyone, placing them as one of the final four teams.

Talk of post-tournament awards had Lilo Blumario winning the MVP, with Garven Hale coming in second. If voting were held that day, All-Star player choices would include Blumario, Layton Vickles and "Dasher" Soley at forward, Krell Vitor at defender, and Garven Hale at goalkeeper. Honourable mentions would most likely be given to Volgoth and Zo Junior at forward, and "Dirty" Navers at defender.

Round Three semifinals began on June 23 and ended on June 27, with Krawk Island facing the Haunted Woods and Roo Island against Darigan Citadel. In the Roo Island vs. Darigan Citadel match, spectators focused on the match-up between Lilo Blumario and Tormo "The Terror" Frein, who was relied upon to go against Lilo one on one, unlike previous teams to double or triple-teamed him. The strategy worked, and Tormo "The Terror" Frein managed to hold his own against Lilo Blumario and allow only a single goal and an assist. Layton Vickles also played well, carrying the Darigan offense with a flurry of shots Clutch Billaban was unable to stop, reverting to his old soft-goal allowing ways, giving up too many points for the Roo Island offence to keep up.

In Krawk Island vs. the Haunted Woods, the Haunted Woods took the win, managing to score enough goals past Garven Hale despite his effort, and Krawk Island was unable to score enough goals against their defensive. The result would see the Haunted Woods and Darigan Citadel face off in the final rounds.

The final round began on June 30 and ended July 6. To everyone's surprise, the game began with a quick score by Tandrak Shaye when Fanetti threw a sloppy pass to Chelo Binay, which Shaye caught and in one sweeping motion threw it past Fanetti, who was unprepared for the sudden throw. Locking down into their usual defensive stranglehold, the Haunted Woods kept Layton Vickles from throwing single shot at the goal. The defensive stalemate continued on until Krell Vitor forced a fumble and passed to Zo Junior, who began running towards the goal the moment the ball was loose. Striding just beyond the reach of Tormo Frein, Zo made a stutter step which sent Mungo Lifler diving to his left, which allowed Zo easily score the goal and tie the game.

With the game still tied and less than thirty seconds left, Darigan Citadel sent a double team at Wan Dirx, forcing him to make a pass meant for Zo Junior, which was picked off by Kep Bonnefie, who ran through the clear path to the opposing goal. Unbeknownst to Kep, Wan Dirx was quickly gained ground from behind and blocked the ball with a dive when Bonnefie made a shot at the Haunted Woods' goal. With Bonnefie baffled at what just happened, Dirx regained possession of the Yooyuball and dashed in the other direction. By the time the Bonnefie figured out what took place, he was out of position and unable to get back on defence in time.

On the other side of the field, Dirx made the most of the four-on-three advantage, throwing the Yooyuball to a briefly unguarded Chelo Binay, who in turn flicked the ball to Krell Vitor when his defender rushed over to keep him from getting a wide-open shot. In one swift movement, Vitor took Binay's lob and sent a one-timer past the reach of Mungo Lifler, giving the Haunted Woods a 2-1 lead as the final seconds ticked off the clock, earning them the right to take home the Altador Cup. The crowd went silent for a brief moment before erupting in cheer so loud the referee's whistle could barely be heard.

Unlike regular plots where the plot was directed by The Neopets Team, the plot was directed by the collective users on Neopets, and how well they collectively played Yooyuball for each of their teams. After each round finished, a plot summary was written to act out who won in each Round.

Teams could be selected by the user, but there was also the option to be placed on a team via a quiz which tested their personality. Users could continue to switch teams until each round began, but couldn't change their team until sign-ups for the next round began. Users could send in their scores on June 8 - 11, June 15 - 18, June 22 - 25 and June 29 - July 3. The score they contributed was calculated by their win/loss/tie record, the number of goals scored each game, and a average based on team membership (so a team with more users participating wouldn't have an advantage over a team with fewer users).

It was a common misconception having a loss counted against a user's score, when in truth every completed game raised the users score higher. Some users who wanted a certain team to win tried to take advantage of the system by signing up for an opposing team and purposefully lose in order to try and lower the chance of them winning, when all it did was raise the score by having a game played. It's unknown if not playing at all lowered the score of teams.

Tournament play was single-elimination, which meant the team which won a match moved on to the next round while the team that lost was eliminated from play. Sixteen teams were randomly seeded and matched up, and after the eight losing teams were eliminated the eight winning teams were again randomly matched up and moved on to the quarter-finals. In the quarter-finals, four more teams were eliminated while the remaining four headed to the semifinals. Semifinals determined which two teams fought in the final match.
On June 10, 2006, it was revealed The Neopets Team would be participating in their own Altador Cup, with staff members playing Yooyuball against each other for the best score. Sixteen members of the staff were assigned a team, and users were asked to vote who would take first, second and third place, winning Neopoints based on the number of correct votes along with an avatar for correctly voting 1 of the Top 3. Voting ended on June 13, 2006.

Staff tournament rounds coincided with regular tournament rounds, starting with the same 8 match-ups of the real tournament. Scores submitted by the staff members wouldn't contribute towards the real tournament, due to the fact it would be viewed as cheating. Rather, staff scores were tallied individually, determining who stayed and continued to the round. The final tournament results were released on August 4, 2006. The participates were...
After the Altador Cup games came to an end, the best and worst of the tournament were awarded. The Altador Cup Committee chose nominees for each of the categoriesm and users were asked to choose who they thought was most deserving of the award. ==Trivia==
*In a strange coincedence, the teams which won the first round of play were all on the right side of the Altador Cup logo (each colour represented one of the teams). This raised suspiscion that the Altador Cup was rigged, causing outcry among users. It was also speculated the Haunted Woods were rigged to win, as a ways to promote the next plot The Tale of Woe. Both issues were later brought up in the Neopian Times editorial, and explained as nothing more than a coincedence, and it was the users who dictated which teams won.
*An animated commercial aired on television to promote the Altador Cup.

Altador Cup IV is the 4th installment of the annual Altador Cup Tournament. It is a flash game-centred plot which began on June 2nd, 2009.

News
The return of the Altador Cup was announced on the New Features page on May 29th 2009.
Jellyneo discovered and released the new logo of Altador cup IV showing that Kiko Lake was back and Brightvale out, meaning to say that they were not participating . This year, TNT has introduced a new side game called Shootout Showdown to add three from the previous two existing side games, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise.

Plot summary
With the return of the Altador Cup of 2009, it appears to not have brought much major roster changes in the 16 teams apart from Kiko Lake, who tilted their roster a bit. Changes were switching Ditan Colb from Goalkeeper to Right Defender as well Meela Kitah from Right Defender to Right Forward, to releasing both Left and Right Forwards, Helmo Timm and Moni Vyshan. Their new Goalkeeper was Brightvale's own former, Erli Quinnock.

Prior to earlier reports, it was confirmed that indeed Brightvale was not participating in the four annual tournament. King Hagan had issued a decree that which his team was not participating in this year's Altador Cup. The recent decline in the quality of work being done by his kingdom's scholars was the basis of his decision. This is what the King had to say.

"It has been my personal observation, that in the weeks leading up to the arrival of this grand sporting spectacle, there's been far too much banner-making and memorizing of chants going on. As a result, the very foundation upon which this kingdom's reputation is based, its scholarship, has fallen prey to a serious case of neglect. Therefore, until my subjects have shown an ability to strike a harmonious balance between work and play, we shall forthwith be suspending our participation in the Altador Cup."

Whether or not the reason why Brightvale was not participating was the decline of embarrasing losses to his brother's Kingdom of Meridell. All what King Hagen was stated;
"such accusations are not worth dignifying with a reply."

Meaning to say Brightvale was out but what about Kiko Lake? Surely enough they were back or did they suffer from another unfortunate coincidence that led them to another nonappearance. Well that was proven wrong as they made their way back to the Yooyuball scene after a year of delay and it seem the delay was worth it as they landed an impressive victory over Maraqua's scrappy Yooyball squad, as well as wins in two of the three side contests. This is what the Captain, "Poke" Cellers had to say.
"It was really important to get out there and get that first victory, to give ourselves something to build on after what happened last year, especially with all the changes we've had in our lineup, bringing in a new goalie during the offseason and moving Ditan and Meela to new positions... yeah, today's win is huge."

Though they had a superb start, it didn't seem to carry over to their second match against Kreludor as they were sweep quite hard. Though they can beat a team like Maraqua, it seems like they can't beat one of the tournament elite. Does it mean Kiko Lake is somewhere between the good and the best. Well only time will tell... But surely everyone now knows that Kiko Lake is back and will surely be a contender in this year's Altador cup.

Mentioning about the tournament elite that had sweep Kiko Lake, a team that perhaps took the Altador Cup by storm. Which is none other than the moon-based teamed Kreludor. Kreludor had finish sixth last year, and expectations for Team Kreludor were far below entering this year's Altador Cup than previous before. Yet, hardly anyone foresaw the kind of virtue that they showed during the tournament's first week of play, reeling off an impressive six straight Yooyuball victories.

Oh, but not all have been convinced of Kreludor's performance in the early stages of the competition, however. As one tournament insider (who declined to speak on the record) stated: "Kreludor? Pfft... they've just been beating up on a bunch of sorry teams. Who have they really beaten? Faerieland? Altador? Virtupets? Meridell might've been a quality win in the past, but they're losing as many as they win nowadays. Granted, Kreludor beat Darigan Citadel on Opening Day, but Darigan's playing like an entirely different team right now. No way Team Kreludor would beat those guys today."

Fueling nay-sayers with more fuel, Kreludor's streak ended with a plummet that showed draws between Maraqua and Krawk Island. With the matches of Haunted Woods, Shenkuu, and Roo Island soon to come, it seems like Kreludor's season is at a indefinite crossroads. Could Kreludor show and prove their detractors wrong and deserve the spot with the sport's elite or take back to the spot of the middle of the pack- which they have for the last couple of AC's.

As the Altador Cup IV reaches the midway point, it have been a year of some surprising performances in the tournament, both bad and good. Some teams have been doing well so far, but perhaps the most significant surprise has been the dominance of the Darigan Citadel, which appears to have completely bounced back from last year's 7th place finish and more evidently what fans call "the winner's curse".

As previously mention, Darigan Castle had lost their first Yooyuball match against Kreludor, but Darigan has been nearly impossible to beat ever since, reeling off a dozen victories and only two ties without a single loss. They've hardly faltered on side games, either, reaching ten or more wins for the three side games during the tourney's first phase.

To comment about their recent success, team captain Layton Vickles had this to say, "It's been totally different this time around, as if we're re-learning how to have fun playing all over again. After winning in Year 9, there was just this incredible amount of pressure to come back and repeat, and that tension really worked against us."

That's certainly inclining to that of Roo Island, last year's champions, can relate to right now. At the tournament's halfway mark Roo Island stands as, of then, far and away, the tournament's biggest disappointment, losing more than half their contests. While most experts doubt that Roo Island is capable of surging a second half charge straight towards the finals, but as the old sporting cliché goes, "one should never underestimate the heart of a champion..."

With the second phase of the Altador Cup's double round robin coming to a close, the tournament's finalists have now been determined. The four teams competing for this year's title are Kreludor, Krawk Island, The Lost Desert, and Shenkuu, with the Darigan Citadel narrowly missing a spot in the finals and finishing fifth.

The tournament's final round came to this conclusion, with top-seeded Kreludor taking on fourth-ranked Shenkuu. In a matchup between the two and three seeds, Krawk Island will be squaring off against The Lost Desert. The winner of each pairing will then advance to the final match, where the tournament's champion will be decided.

The other three brackets were:

Bracket 2: Top seeded Darigan Citadel taking on fourth Mystery Island while second and third ranked Maraqua and Tyrannia battling it out.

Bracket 3: Top seeded Haunted Woods taking on fourth Virtupets while second and third ranked Roo Island and Meridell battling it out.

Bracket 4: Top seeded Kiko Lake taking on fourth Faerieland while second and third ranked Terror Mountain and Altador battling it out.

Krawk Island, which had failed to win the Altador Cup tournament in three previous trips to the finals, took advantage of top-seeded Kreludor's surprising defeat to claim the trophy that they've desperately sought for so long, taking full advantage of a weary Shenkuu team in the tournament's championship match.

A well-rounded squad with no apparent weaknesses, Kreludor entered the finals as the only team to earn 20 or more wins in each of the tournament's four activities during the double round robin phase. In squaring off against Shenkuu, however, they ran into a team who were prepared to play the match of their lives and show far more hustle, intensity, and sheer will than any other team, especially since Kreludor get the best of them just a week earlier.

It seems almost a shame then (although certainly understandable) that by the time Shenkuu reached the finals they were thoroughly spent, unable to maintain the level of focus and execution that had exceeded them to pull off one of the greatest upset in tournament finals history. It was into this fortunate situation that stepped a Krawk Island squad who, determined to not be turned away a fourth time, seized upon this inevitable opportunity to make good and finally "win one for Ol' Dash."

Altador Cup IV ended with the pirates (Krawk Island) beating out the ninjas (Shenkuu) after what seem to have been a most memorable season and giving Ol' Dash the trophy he so indefinitely deserves. While Lost Desert took 3rd place by beating Kreludor, who were first at the end of double round robin and were top contenders for the cup but in the end took 4th.

The 2nd bracket ended with Maraqua winning over Mystery Island and taking 5th place, a major accomplishment from last year's 10th finish. While Darigan Citadel beating out side game powerhouse Tyrannia to take the same rank from previous, 7th.

The 3rd bracket came with Roo Island beating out Haunted Woods for 9th, a major dealt to their 1st place from last year. While Meridell, who also came from a big dealt last year from being 5th, taking 11th by beating Virtupets.

The 4th and last bracket manage to give Terror Mountain the 13th place from Kiko Lake, who were thought to be a contender this year but didn't follow through. While in the bottom of standings, Altador just edge the 15th spot from Faerieland who took last.

Overall Team Breakdown's
Altador
Altador came with 15th place in Altador Cup IV, after losing to Terror Mountain n the first round then taking the win from Faerieland in the second round of the Finals. Though they were second-to-last in Altador Cup IV, they came with the worst overall statistics; in Yooyuball with no wins, 1 draw, and 29 losses but doing better in the three side games with a combined 7 wins, 7 draws, and 76 losses altogether. Altador Cup IV gave Altador their worst placing as of yet after taking 13th place for the previous two season.

Brightvale
DID NOT PARTICIPATE IN ALTADOR CUP IV

Darigan Citadel
Darigan Citadel ends up at 7th place for a second straight year after losing to Maraqua in the first round of the Finals but then won over Tyrannia in the second round. Though with their middle-of the pack placement, Darigan Citadel had the second best overall statistics of Altador Cup IV - only behind to Lost Desert, respectively. They tied Shenkuu with the second best Yooyuball record of Altador cup IV with having 21 wins, 4 draws, and 5 losses but as well as having a decent side game prowess with the three side games combined to give them 51 wins, 16 draws, and 23 losses. Altador Cup IV's ranking for Darigan Citadel tied them for their worst placement from last year's performance after being second in Altador Cup I then winning in Altador Cup II.

Faerieland
Faerieland ended being 16th out of the 16 teams playing in the Altador Cup, after losing to Kiko Lake in the first round of the Finals and Altador in the second round. Though they were last in the rankings out of the 16 teams in Altador cup IV, overall in the standings, they did not get the lowest statistics with Yooyuball and the 3 side games combined with only Altador having the worst. Faerieland ended up with 2 wins, 1 draw, and 27 losses in Yooyuball but their side game skills were the worst of AC IV with a combined total in all 3 side games equaling to 0 wins, 1 draw, and 89 losses. Altador Cup IV gave Faerieland their second time as being last in the rankings wich they had avoided from the previous two seasons- taking 15th place in both AC II & III.

Haunted Woods
Haunted Woods finish with 10th place out of the 16 teams that competed during the Altador Cup IV after beating Meridell in the first round of the finals but then lost to last year's champion Roo Island in the second round. With 10th place overall for Altador Cup IV, they manage to get a better statistic, out of the 16 teams that competed, they were better than 8 teams but outbested by 7 other teams giving them the 6th best statistics. Haunted Woods had 13 wins, 5 draws, and 12 losses in Yooyuball with an almost equal force in the side games which overall came together with 39 wins, 16 draws, and 35 losses. Altador Cup IV's ranking gave Haunted Woods their worst ranking ever after winning Altador Cup I to getting mediocre rankings the next two AC's afterward with a 7th place ranking followed by an 8th place ranking.

Kiko Lake
Kiko Lake came up with 14th place in a second consecutive year (excluding the year before where Kiko Lake didn't participate) which they got after they beat Faerieland in the first round than lost to Terror Mountain in the second round of the finals. Though they came up with the third lowest standing, they had a more approachable statistics to rely on as they got the 12th best with only their 4th tear-mates and Virtupets having worst records. Kiko Lake had 7 wins, 2 draws, and 21 losses in Yooyuball with slightly better side game skills which overall combined were 27 wins, 9 draws, and 54 losses. After missing out Altador cup III, Kiko Lake didn't make further headway in the standings for Altador Cup IV which is tied for their worst ranking back to AC II and one place worst than AC 1 where they got 13th.

Krawk Island
Krawk Island had beaten Lost Desert in the first round in the finals while Shenkuu likewise beaten the number one seed, Kreludor, so the final match was to be Krawk Island vs. Shenkuu. Krawk Island edge out Shenkuu in the second round which gave them 1st place in the standings, bragging rights of the year plus the coveted Altador Cup trophy. Even though they came with the AC, they didn't get the highest statistics overall but the 4th highest with Lost Desert, Darigan Citadel, and Shenkuu having better records. Krawk Island had 20 wins, 7 draws, and 3 losses in Yooyuball but surprisingly had better side game records which was overall was 66 wins, 8 draws, and 16 losses. After Krawk Island's finals experience for the last three years which were AC I: 3rd, AC II: 4th and AC III: 2nd, fans did not expect much from Krawk Island but expect the unexpected, as is rightfully suited for Krawk Island which after three years of not getting the top overall, finally got it, in Altador cup IV.

Kreludor
Kreludor was the top seeded team coming to the finals so expectations for them to win the AC IV was high but the expectations slowly diminished as they lost to Shenkuu in the first round followed up with the disappointing lost to Lost Desert to give them 4th place. With 4th place for the year, overall statically, they had the records to back up their ranking as they had the fifth best record out of the 16 teams. Tied with the winner Krawk Island with 20 wins, they were just 1 draw away (6) and a loss one to much (4), to tying with Krawk Island in Yoouyuball records but they did have better records overall in side games than Krawk Island with 68 wins, 14 draws, and 8 losses. Kreludor's highest ranking ever in the last 4 AC, it was a better improvement from 9th in Altador Cup I to missing Altador Cup II and then last year's standing of 6th.

Lost Desert
Coming Soon...
Maraqua
Maraqua finishes in 5th place after beating Tyrannia and Mystery Island in the finals. Krawk Island had ended Maraqua's incredible seventeen game streak of not losing during the regular season.

Meridell
Coming Soon...
Mystery Island
Coming Soon...
Roo Island
Roo Island came 9th place after beating out Meridell in the first Finals Round, and then Haunted Woods in the 3rd bracket, a major difference from being Champions in Altador Cup III.

Shenkuu
Coming Soon...
Terror Mountain
Plot participation
The gameplay is similar to Altador Cup II and III, where players choose and contribute points to their selected team. Players are not allowed to change their team after the registration period.

Altador Cup IV still uses the "double round robin" tournament play, introduced in Altador Cup II. Each team will play with the other fifteen teams twice, after which all teams will take part in the four days finals phase. The finals consist of a playoff match-up and a final match-up, each lasts for two days. The 16 teams will split into four groups according to their ranking. In the playoff match-up, the highest and lowest ranked teams for each group will play against each other, while the second and third ranked teams for each group play against each other. The two winning teams of each group will play against each other for the first place within their group, while the two losing teams fight for the third place.

Players can contribute points to their team by scoring goals in Yooyuball, and also by playing Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise, and Shootout Showdown. The results for all four games will be evaluated separately and contribute to the player's team overall standing in the tournament.
Trivia
*When TNT released the picture of which Dasher is holding the trophy of which Krawk Island won, if you look closely on the team colors in the middle of the trophy, it seem to reveal that Brightvale had actually played while Kiko Lake wasn't, while another thing is that Kreludor's position seem to have shifted as well. Which mean that Dasher could be carrying the Altador cup trophy that Roo Island had won last year.

Key Quest is a game announced on February 6, 2008, and was fully released on July 29, 2008.

How to play
You begin your turn by either rolling the dice or playing a power up. If you choose to play a power up, you will still get to roll the dice afterwards. The number of tiles you move is equal to the amount you roll on the dice. If you come to a junction in the board, yellow arrows will pop up. To choose the way that you wish to go, simply click the arrow of the direction.

As you step over the neopoint, key, teleport or powerup tiles, they will activate. To activate the other tiles, such as the mini-game, location, alignment, and treasure tiles, you have to land on them.

Houses
The different houses have different advantages and disadvantages. These all depend on where the house is located. At present, there is only one map, so we can only give you details on the houses on that map.

*Faerieland: This house is relatively far away from the quest door, meaning that the game will finish later, and it is less likely that you will get there first. However, there are plenty of minigame tiles around it, meaning that you can pick up extra keys. There are also lots neopoint squares around, along with a key square. There is a real possibility of racking up points in this area.

*Haunted House: This house is the farthest away from the quest door, however there are three key tiles nearby, as well as powerup, minigame and neopoint tiles. This is a great place to get a decent haul.

*Lost Desert: This house is very close to the quest door, therefore making it easier to get there quicker. There are also multiple key tiles nearby, along with the teleport, and a few minigames.

Neopia Central: This house only has one key nearby, however it is very close to the quest door. It does have lots of powerups nearby, but not many minigames.

Power Ups
There are many powerups to be found during the game. These help the person using them, but can severely hinder the person that they are used against. These are the possible powerups:

*Rainbow Sticky Hand: This powerup can be very useful to the person using it. They get their pick of the other players' powerups, and they don't have to land on a powerup square. It can be annoying to the person who is on the other end of the powerup, as they permanently loose their powerup.

*Misdirected Compass: This powerup causes the person who it us used on to reverse directions. This is not incredibly useful to the person using it unless someone is getting close to the Quest Door. It is then possible to use it to change their direction, making them come back the way they came. Also, if the person using it wishes to change their direction, perhaps to get somewhere quicker, they can use it on themselves. This can prove to be very useful. It can be a major pain for the player that the compass is used on, because it stops them getting to where they need to go.

*Loaded Gummy Die: The Loaded Gummy Die can be very useful to the user. You basically get to choose what number you get on the next roll. This can be especially useful when close to the Quest Door. This doesn't really do much harm to anyone else, except for the fact that the person using it gets exactly where they want to be. One very useful feature is for landing on the treasure square.

*Virtudice: When you use this power-up you'll guarantee to roll a 6 for your turn. This is a weaker version of the Loaded Gummy Die because you can't choose where exactly to land, but you'll still roll a 6.

*Transporter Helmet: The Transporter Helmet can be very useful to the user, if annoying to the person it's being used on. It swaps the person using it with another player of their choice. This can be useful to the person using it, especially if it gets them closer to the Quest Door.

*Catapult: This powerup can be extremely irritating to the person that it's used on. It shoots them back 'home,' which is back to where they started. This means that if they were close to the Quest Door, they have to go back around to it. It's a useful tool for stopping people getting there before you.

*Bottled Quicksand: This powerup does not give the player using it a major advantage, unless it is a two player game. It causes the chosen player to miss a turn, missing out on any keys or points they may pick up that turn. Bad for obvious reasons.

*Key Grabber: The Key Grabber is both extremely helpful to the user and extremely hindering to the person that it is used on. It takes one key from the chosen player, and gives it to the person using the card. This can give a huge advantage to the person using it, as it could be the last key they need to finish the game.

*Distraction Potion: The Distraction Potion can be really irritating to the person that it is used on. It allows the user to switch keys with another player, meaning that the person it is used on could end up with a double of one key. It could also be the last key the user needs before winning the game.

Keys you can win from the different games
*A 2 key game gives lead to the winner and nothing to second to fourth.
*A 3 key game gives bronze to the winner, lead to second and nothing to third and fourth.
*A 4 key game gives silver to the winner, bronze to second, lead to third and nothing to fourth.
*A 5 key game gives gold to the winner, silver to second, bronze to third and lead to fourth.

* Note: sometimes, there are ties for 2nd place thus, two or more players can get silver keys.

To activate all other tiles, you need to land on them.

Shenkuu is a mountainous land far North of Altador in Neopia. It was made available on September 8, 2006 after the Cyodrake's Gaze plot. Like the name suggests, Shenkuu is a Chinese themed world, although it takes its design from both China and Japan. Shenkuu has been unknown to Neopians for centuries, only to be revealed by the crew of the Cyodrake's Gaze after they received help from users. Its citizens are cautious of visitors, though this isn't explained why, but nonetheless they have welcomed visitors from all over Neopia, spreading their trade (as it is a merchant town).

Yooyuball
Shenkuu joined the Altador Cup in 2007 because the climate in Shenkuu was extremely wet and stormy in June 2006 because Altador had a weather control device that made all the low pressure systems in June that were supposed to hit Altador go north to rain in Shenkuu to prevent the weather from interfering with the Altador Cup. Shenkuu is regarded by Altador Cup enthusiasts as an exciting young team with plenty of promise, but they were expected not to make much noise in the tournament, having too many holes in their team. The inexperience of goalie Xana DiLanche, the unpredictable health of defender Turo Rafels, and the team's overall lack of tournament play are all serious concerns. However, the stunning talent of young forwards Mirsha Grelinek and Foltaggio may cause a few upsets.

The team surpassed expectations by claiming 3rd place in the 2007 Cup after defeating Krawk Island in the 3rd place game while the following year in Altador Cup III, they dropped down one spot to 4th place. In Altador Cup IV Shenkuu came second after, shockingly, beating top seed Kreludor and losing to Krawk Island in the finals.
