I think so... most numbers in the 800 range are toll free, as far as I know.

I believe 888 numbers are the ones that you have to pay and get scammed on usually.

818 is a California area code. It's not free.
888 is a toll free extension as well as 822, 833, 844, 855, 866, and 877 {as far as I know}.

Dawn : Most 800 area codes are not free.

Right.. XD First, check if your phone company has free long distance. If not, I think it may be better to use a pay phone..

I think I recognize that number and I just had serious deja vu. Because I asked Fidds the exact same question about 2 months ago. And she said they aren't free.

She knew what number that was too.
