She never used to worry,
She never used to fear,
Till she lost everything,
To her so dear.

She ran away,
Alleys so dark,
Far in the city,
Fear of dog's bark.

Rare to find water,
Worst to find food,
She lingered day,
Not wishing on her mood.

Became so hungry,
Went on a search,
Every last grumble,
The bark on a birch.

Till of exhaustion,
And her search weary,
Her body sagged,
Too tired to carry.

She collapsed in place,
Breathed her last,
Wishing begone,
Of a lifetime fast.

Ooo, really good, and quite sad, too. Poor girl. The "Fear of dog's bark" line kind of sounds a bit odd though, maybe I'd change it to Fearing dog's bark, but hey, I don't write poetry, so more than likely I'm not knowing what I speak of.
