As I am a member of the TNO guild and Billopan.com forums, I am very concerned at the latest happenings of neopian sites. Neocolours got hacked, their forums are phpBB, billo got hacked, they also use phpBB. What I fear next is hacking PPT. Is there a backup file incase it does happen? Because the hackers who hit the billopan forums deleted every single topic there, but fortunately still kept the post count. What next?

PPT is safe, their are no loopholes in the coding for the worm to break into ;)

look at the trend phpbb, my site used to and still does runs on Invision Power Board , it is better than phpbb and you can do more with it

I am a member of Neocolours known as NightSkyes.
I was angry to see what happened to them!
Now another site? How pathetic, someone wastes their knowledge
taking down forums and for what!? They think it's cool?
I think it's lame :roll:

I hope to come here more often and post, you seem like nice people ;)

Nobody got hacked.

This is just an internet worm. Nobody is particularly targeting neoitems/neocolours or any other forum. For example, I have heart disease and my support group forum got infected -- there is nothing there that anybody would want.

If you are really worried, make sure that your neopets password is different from the one you use anywhere else.

I always use a different password on forums than the one I use on Neopets.

I think it's pathetic that someone came up with this program to infect all forums.

Really, what motivates these people? :roll:

And every member of the forum recieved an email from the official neopian orphanage email account that automatically sends messages to all its members when needed, saying that he hacked TNO and did so out of spite. True confession, ask any TNO member. So I don't believe it is a worm, but just people who hold a grudge for too long.

Actually there is a worm going around. I've had a few people posting about it in the tech support forums i run.

I don't really understand why people would want to mess up sites like OD (OpenDiary), Neocolours and so forth ...
Don't these people have anything better to do than attack and ruin other peoples hard work? o_O

Indeed. Invision Power board is more secured. If neoitems and those other helpsites that got hacked used ipb i doubt that they would be down right now.

Wouldn't that be Neocolours?

I think that PPT should be security updated, like DiscordantNote said on another topic :)
