Er, perhaps read the rest of the topic? They changed the way due to pressure on the servers from neomail flooding. ;)

Dunno if anyone's confirmed this or not yet, but yes, you definitely can get the avatar by signing up for the 30-day trial Neopets Webmail service (you also get 2500 np). It DOES ask you for a credit card number and billing information, in fact, it bills you for the first month of service. You have the option of paying $3.99 for one month or $34.95 for a full year's subscription. After you pay and create your webmail account, you get the Neomail Addict avatar and 2500 np. After the 30-day trial period, if you haven't cancelled your subscription, it continues to bill you. If you DO cancel before the 30 days are up, you get a refund of your 4 bucks. If you choose not to cancel your subscription, you get an additional 7500 np, apparently.

That certainly is not confirmed. I got the av by sending a neomail to my other account with the title being "I love neomail", and the body being that, too (since I didn't know which one it had to be). Don't confirm something until you've done it, you give people wrong info.
