LOL How wierd. But I think instead of los maderos it was maderitos in my song. xD I thought it was just a family thing because NO ONE had ever heard of it.

My mom didn't sing lullabies to me much(though I can remember her singing "Hush Little Baby" once or twice), but there was a book of poems we used to read together. My favorite poems were The Highwayman(weird choice for a six-year-old, but I was never constrained by any desire to be normal) and The Pirate Don Durk of Dowdee, which my mother has since decided is Jack Sparrow's alias.

My mom always made up lullabies. Most common was some variation on this:

my parents, especially used to sing me Neil Diamond songs. That's actually one of my earliest memories, being danced around the living room to "Song Sung Blue"
