Well, the bookmakers don't know whether it's true, they just don't want to be stuck paying off a bunch of bets in case someone does have inside info.

Indeed. Think, Kimmy.
How would the bookmakers know if it were true or not? If they knew who died they'd have really outlandish odds on that person to discourage betting.

But if it is true and lots of people bet, they stand to lose a lot, hence they fear it.

I just had a revelation... Flitwick is the Half Blood Prince. Now hold on, I'm trying to get more evidence.

Flitwick? O_o.

And if Dumbledore dies, then the Order is pretty much screwed without him :P.

And then what happens to Voldemort?

Answer: He becomes greater and more terrible than ever he was.

He's half-blood right enough ;)

Dumbledore dying sounds alright. Then Voldie becomes stronger, tragical end of book 6, then Harry somehow defeats Voldie in book 7.

Well, we all know that Lily is definately a) dead and b) not a Death Eater, so all those rumours can RIP now.

I just want to Voldie to call Bellatrix, "Bella" again. Oooooooooh.

Aw, c'mon, Harry winning is so predictable. What's wrong with my ending of him dying?

I said defeats Voldie... not defeats Voldie and lives happily ever after :P

The Ministry of Magic is also in trouble. In the first book they said that Fudge had to rely on Dumbledore for advice.

And...Flitwick doesn't seen like a prince to me.

I hope Harry kills Voldemort, but dies in the process.

Also, I'll bet you 30 galleons that HBP will teach us more about the history of Hogwarts, particularly about Salazar Slytherin. Also, that the HBP himself is someone in the past, either Salazar Slytherin or Godric Gryffindor.

EDIT: Umm... just realized that 30 galleons is $144.65 USD... errmm.. maybe we oughta cancel that bet XD

Ah, I hope Harry dies too. Nothing against him, but I don't want a happily ever after ending. Or maybe Ron or Hermoine will die before Harry defeats Voldemore. Or both of them die! Muwhahaha!

(How do you know how much money 30 galleons is compared to dollars? :P Is there some sort of conversion table on a site I don't know about?)

The Comic Relief books were labeled with prices in both USD and Wizard money.

I, personally, would rather have both Ron and Hermione die than have one of the two- I am an adamant R/Hr shipper, after all.

And as for converters: here you go.
