Anka was becoming very annoyed this girl was obviously a Geomancer but was just scared of admitting it.
Without any control over it, his staff began to vibrate. He couldn't let go, or even control it.
The light started to fade and darkness surrounded the beach. It began to become cold and hard to breath. People were screaming and Anka's head was swimming. He felt powerfull as if he had new life inside of him.
The darkness started to recede. It became very bright and warm again. He looked around and most of the vines that Tira had produced had withered and died. He didn't really care about that as when he looked a small boy was lying, motionless, on the beach.
Then the realization came. He was dead.

Maya looked towards the beach. She felt a great power there, so she quickly buttoned her coat, darting over. Once there, she kicked aside some of the snow that was gathering on the sand. Her head snapped up as she saw Tira, Anka, and two teenagers, a boy and girl. Suddenly, everything grew dark. Maya stumbled around aimlessly in the black, and the next thing she knew, she was lying face down in the sand. When the light returned, she rolled over, spitting sand out of her mouth. Maya turned her head, still lying down, to see what she had tripped over. A piercing scream rang through the air as she saw what... or who... it was. It was a little boy, lying limp and lifeless on the sand.
Neva sat down, her silver blonde hair covering her face as she opened up her laptop ((Remember, Ankha has the same technology as Earth)), and booted it up, a smile playing on her face. She felt so powerful, so... alive as the snowflakes fell on her head! She innocently listened to a silly flash cartoon about ninjas. 'Yay! Ohmygod! Look! I braided my little tassely thingy! Wheee! Yeah!' Her speakers spit out. She soon grew bored, and made her way to a little diner down the block for some dinner. Neva still wore that smirk on her face.

Sand whipped around them, spinning faster and faster. Feeling the wand shake violently in her hand, Deirdre gasped in pain as it was nearly torn out of her hand by- something, she wasn't sure. Perhaps another one of those vines?
Her train of thought was shattered when a vine shot forward, hitting her in the head. Her last thought as she lost conscious was, Well, this is a really stupid way to pass out. Being smacked in the head by a freaking vine. Oh hahaha. I suppose she is a Geomancer, then. Damn it.
The second after Deirdre slumped over into Andrew's lap, the sand storm abruptly died. In fact, the sand simply stopped moving and dropped down- not what one would have expected, but then, the Geomancer controlling it had just blacked out.
Andrew simply stared down at the girl in his lap, quite shocked at the display of power she'd just shown, but quickly snapped out of it, wide-eyed, as the sun appeared to be snuffed out. He didn't really know if that was indeed what had happened, but it certainly seemed like it. There was no light at all. The black surrounding everything wasn't the black you see if you're in a room with no windows or lights: it was a black that was almost painful to see, as the light was completely absent.
Not only that, but the warmth had been sucked out of everything, and it was suddenly difficult to even breath. Even his own body heat seemed to have disappeared- and as he quickly realized, Deirdre's too- she felt like a popsicle. Aside from her not being sticky, made of juice and frozen solid, of course.
Hearing screaming, Andrew tried not to panic, but soon found that it was harder than one would think, seeing how he could barely breathe and felt as if a new Ice Age had come. And, of course, there being absolutely no light whatsoever.
But yes, aside from that, no reason to panic.
However, just as Andrew felt as if he was about to die from fear, light began to shine again, and he looked around, utterly confused.
Unfortunately, that confusion didn't really help when he saw the dead child. Staring in horror, he quickly checked Deirdre's pulse, hoping against hope she hadn't succumbed to the same fate. When it became apparent she was very much alive, he thought he would die from relief, but instead chose to stand, holding her limp form up.
((Gah, the writing in this post sucks. I'm awful at writing boys, as you can see.

As there's a beach there, it's obvious that it's going to be significantly warmer than, say, the most inland place in the world (well, unless that's on the equator and this place is in the South Pole.).))

((Well, Talim and my characters were wearing cloaks at the second concert, and Maya had a coat with her, so I'd say late winter/early spring. And the snow was caused by Neva, it had nothing to do with the season))

Tira grunted in pain as some of her vines began dieing, she felt darkness all around even though she couldn't see through her shield of vines and it soon became hard to breath. Tira leaned back against her vines, she slowly slid down until her bottom hit the sandy floor. She brought her knees to her chest and clutched her arms around herself. Tira really, really hated the dark.
After what felt like an eternity the darkness disappated, Tira opened her eyes and saw sunlight streaming through the gaps left from the dead vines. She shakily stood up and pushed open the vine bubble, when she emerged she saw Deirdre in Andrew's arms. Turning around she saw Anka standing, staring at something in shock, following his gaze she turned around just in time to watch Maya trip over the dead child and scream.
Head whipping around to look at Anka with her eyes wide, Tira's gaze became steely as anger took over, "What have you done?" Waving both her arms forward in a swiping motion, thorned vines flew out of her fingertips and coiled around Anka.

Talim watched everything that happened as she ran, she watched the blizzard grow in intensity, she saw the sandstorm flare up at the beach, she saw Tira cover herself with vines and attack Deirdre and she saw Anka summon forth his darkness and kill a child. Oh Goddess, what am I supposed to do now? They're all too powerful for their own good, she thought to herself.
Thankfully the Goddess decided to aid Talim, her large delicate staff appeared in her hands and the blue orb at the top began to glow as Talim arrived at the beach. Glowing to a powerful intensity the light from the orb suddenly burst forth. It encased everyone on the beach, destroying the vines which held Anka and filling everyone with a sense of peace and calmness. "Everyone please calm down." Talim sighed, her eyes lowering and her voice growing softer. "Our world is falling apart... and all you can do is bicker? You are all greatly misusing your powers, they were given to you all for a reason, as you have all been specially chosen by the Goddess to help re-unite our world."
Talim looked to the small boy lying on the beach, she then turned back to Anka, "We still have time to save the child, you must run back to the marketplace and find Joy, she is the only one who can bring the child back to life. Go now!" And with that said, Talim's staff dissappeared and she walked over to Andrew and Deirdre, "I must speak with her once she wakes."
((I'm going on a school camp tomorrow, only until Friday night, but one of you should take care of Talim and Tira for me.))

Anka, still quike shocked and disoreintated, stared at the child. He felt nothing. No remorse. No Guilt. Nothing. He heard Talim's words. They echoed in his mind. He began to back away towards where the rest of them were. He turned around and then started to run.
Meanwhile Joy was asleep on the bench because she'd been so bored. She started to wake up. She felt a cold unlike any she had before. It looked dark through her eyelids but it bacame brighter. 'Must've just been me waking up.' She thought. She opened her eyes to find Anka running towards her.
"Joy..." He said out of breath. "Joy... You need to... come. Quickly!"
"Why? What happened?" she asked, still a little disoreintated.
"No... time. Just come!"
"Well OK. But I still don't know why."
"JUST SHUT UP AND RUN!" He shouted at her.
"OK OK! There's no need to shout." She said getting up from the bench.
'What's with the change of heart? He weren't this eager to talk to me before...' She thought.
They began to run towards the beach Anka was falling behind.
"You go on ahead Joy! I can't run for much longer!" He shouted ahead "They're near the sand dunes!"
Joy strangly already knew where to go. She couldn't explain it. It was like she knew something there had happened that shouldn't have.
Anka had fell to his knees. He didn't run much and was quite unfit when running he needed to catch his breath.
The feeling of emptyness had now gone. He could now only picture the small child. Then, for no apparent reason, he began to laugh. He couldn't stop. He knelt in the street and laughed.
The empyness had been replaced with enjoyment.

Wake, Mistress, up, Mistress! trilled billions of tiny voices.
Deirdre groaned, thinking vaguely, What the...
"She's awake! Well, I think she is, anyway, it's not like she's opened her eyes, or anything, but she did groan-"
"Shut up, Andrew," she muttered as she opened her eyes, wincing at the sudden bright light.
"Okay, then, she's definitely awa-"
The Sand Geomancer glared at him, then sneezed (she was, to her great irritation, coated with a thick layer of sand, both dry and wet) loudly before snapping hoarsely, "Andrew!"
Her friend rolled his eyes, but said nothing. Silently thanking him, Deirdre managed to sit up- the second time that day she'd had to- and, idly wondering why she had been lying in Andrew's lap, asked him, "Where'd those voices come from?"
"What, me telling that woman you were waking up? Hey, by the way, what's your name?" Andrew asked, his question directed towards the woman holding the large staff.
"Nevermind that, Andrew, what were those voices that spoke right before I opened my ey-" she didn't manage to finish her query, however, as she cut herself off with a shriek as a large lump of sand lifted itself off of her lap- without the wand touching it.
"We did!" the sandball announced, it's voice a cacophony of mixed voices- all quite high-pitched, Deirdre realized.
Voice shaky, she replied, asking, "A-and w-w-who is we?"
"We! All us! We have lots of us! We now big us, you see," it chimed back, continuing, "We be sand: much sand, we is. We your helpers, Mistress Sand Lady!"
"Helpers? But- well, no offense, but you're about a billion little particles of sand. How would you be able to help me? By flying into an enemy's nose and causing them to have a sneezing fit, thus rendering them helpless as I valiantly tie them up?"
"Mistress has good idea, Mistress does. But we help Mistress in lots of ways! We can be Mistress' pets!" the lump said, before promptly splitting into five lumps, which then changed shape to resemble very lumpy sand scorpions.
Deirdre blinked. This was quite odd. But then again... She grinned and asked, "I like cats better. Can you do that?"
The five sand scorpions crumbled, but as they hit the ground, shot up again, having turned themselves into five miniature sand cats.
Unfortunately for their budding friendship with 'Mistress', however, said girl noticed the motionless little boy and screamed.
Andrew was left quite helpless, as a ball of sand had just floated off of Deirdre's lap and started speaking to her, who had, in turn, spoken back, before screaming- loudly- as she noticed the dead boy.
Wincing, he slapped his hand over her mouth, effectively shutting her up, leaving her wide-eyed and silent, staring at the child's prone, unmoving body.

Anka couldn't stop himself laughing. It had taken over him. He couldn't breathe properly and his ribs were starting to hurt. People started to stare at him. He didn't care. He now knew what his power was, And nobody, NOBODY, could escape it.
Joy was still running, she could hear laughing in the distance. She wondered who it was, but she decided to ignore it.
Tira, Talim, Deirdre, Andrew and the five sand cats came into veiw. She hadn't noticed to young boy yet.
"Talim, What is going on? The Night Geomancer come to get me saying it was Important, but He couldn't keep up with me. What's Happened?" She blurted out at a very fast pace. It was then that she noticed the dead child. She screamed. She could not pull her eyes away from the Child. Her eyes began to well up and a tear escaped.
"What happened here?" She asked softly.

Talim sombrely faced Joy, "I'll explain in a moment, right now I need you to help us save the child." She slowly walked towards the small child, when she was a few centimetres away from it she knelt down. Turning her head to face Joy she motioned with her hand for her to come over.
"Quickly now, don't be afraid Joy, you must embrace your powers. Place the tip of your wand on his forehead and close your eyes. Then focus on everything good and pure, think about the warm sun, think about light and peace and happiness, and channel it all into your wand. Don't be afraid."

Did this mean Anka had killed the child? She did not know. But If she could bring things back to life... Then that meant He could kill things...

She placed her wand tip on the stiff child's forehead and closed her eyes she focused on pure thoughts like a stream on a summer day, Puppys, Kittens, Light, happiness, love and lots of other good and pure things. Joy felt warmth inside of her. It was building and she felt it travel down her arm to her wand. Her wand tip began to glow. The Child then also began to glow. The Child began to breathe again. It began to squirm and cry out for it's mother.
"MOMMY" It screamed out.
Joy heard it and opened her eyes. The wand stopped glowing. Joy began to smile, but she felt weak as if most of her energy had been drained.
The Child's Mother had run across to Joy. She picked up her child.
"Thank you... Thank you so much. Geomancer." She said softly while trying to stifle her tears.
Joy mearly smiled at her before she colapsed from exaustion.
