((A roleplayer should always opt for diversity. It'd be good to see you playing a different type of character, and could probably broaden your roleplay writing style. But hey, if it'd be boring, then I wouldn't bother either ))

Beta sat down on the mud stained concrete. He thought to himself, about his past. About that night. The memories came rushing back, just like it had happened yesterday. That night, the night he would become an orphan. The screams of my parents as they were slaughtered before my eyes. The blades of the murderer ripping through thier flesh as if it were paper. The cloaked man turned to Beta. The murderer's eyes spoke to Beta, as if crying out for help. The man realized he had been caught in this act of violence, and fleed, leaving the corpses of my parents to wither before me. Beta's state of mind returned to the present. Beta needed to do something. He hadn't eaten in the past 3 days. A rat scurried by, and Beta lunged out towards it, grabbing the creature like a squeeze toy. Beta's teeth tore through the rat, pulling the meat off of it's bones. Beta was used to eating creatures of the wild, for it had been 7 years since he had had a home cooked meal. 7 years since he had seen his parents alive. 7 years to this day.

Just as Asha moved down the alleyway, she saw a rat scuttle past her. Not an ideal choice, but she couldn't find anything else, and beggers couldn't be choosers. She leapt after the rate, almost tripping over the hand that reached out to grab it. She stumbled, then steadied herself. Turning quickly, ready to claim the rat as her own, she saw the boy had already started eating it.
"You should cook that, mate, get them nasty diseases or what."
Asha almost claimed her share, but she saw his red eyes, and bit back a gasp.
"Whats with your eyes? You could get into the movies with them eyes, y'know, then you wouldn't need to eat rats to get by..." She edged closer, looking at the remains of the rat. They became less appealing as the moments went by, the boy here had the idea, eat it before you know what its going to be and everything will be fine.

A girl, small in height, sat next to the fountain in the center of the city, letting her hands skim the shining surface of the water. She looked down at her little kitten, black in color with piercing eyes. She knew that look by now: it was getting close to her feeding time.
"Come on Mint," spoke Talwin Renetta, with a soft and quite voice,"Let's go get some food."
The kitten purred, knowing it was time for lunch. It hopped up on to Ren's lap, before going inside a rather large pouch, her favorite relaxation part. Ren raised an eyebrow, stifling a giggle.
"You'll get lazy there," she remarked, getting over her sudden laugh attack, "When we really travel, you'll wish you had the excercise!"
But Mint was already comfortable. Sighing, Ren tied the pouch to the side of her waist and got up, making her way to the meat store, the bell on her wristband making small tinkling sounds.

Kalmarris had been wandering through the alleys for no particular reason. He did that nowadays. He just wandered off for no reason and ended up in the strangest places. It must be something to do with that ankh tattoo but it was hidden well. His parents had been very clear that it was never to be revealed before they'd vanished into thin air. He watched as two grubby looking characters communicated. One looked to be eating a rat and the other was speaking and had a rather large wooden staff with her. He observed for no reason. If they attacked him, he would just ask what it was they wanted. If they wanted money, he had none. If they needed food, he had plenty. It had been almost amusing to discover that his inheritance consisted of an unlimited quantity of food, while money was almost nonexistent. Well, there was the house but it wasn't in that great of a condition.

"It's how I get by." Beta said to the girl, looking down at the corpse of the rat. "Been eating 'em all me life." There was silence. "What's your name anyway, mate?"

"You's tell me yours first, ayse?" Asha had now gone completely off the idea of eating the rat, not only was it half digested by now, but its remains looked none too appetising.
She heard the scuff of a heel off the pavement ahead, and looked up sharply.
"Oy! You, wadda you want?"
He didn't look as rough as Asha supposed she did, but he didn't look like he'd had it too easy either. She stood shorter than him, and supposed that due to the height difference he wouldn't see a threat in her approaching him.
"This." She stepped down with her foot heavily at that.
"Is my territory, don't want no poshers like you walking around, that applies to you too, ratboy." She shouted over one shoulder at Beta.

"Do you really wanna try to do that now, mate?" I said, staring at the young girl's face. "People say I have...."fiery" eyes." Beta stood up, wiping the mud from the back of his coat. Beta smirked. "Come on, right now, you and me, let's have a round." Beta picked up his staff and propped it in his hand. "You ready?"

Oh, and Talim will appearing in a concert 'tomorrow' so you might want to mention that... if Joy knows of course))
((:roflol: Ok Pm me with how we'll be connected then

Joy looked the woman up and down. She seemed a law abider.
"Well she said something about a concert to me last night you might want to check with the innkeeper he'll know more than me." She smiled at her.
She glared at the drunk man sitting next to Tira.
"PUT THAT DOWN!"
The man had picked up her wand.
"My Grandfather left me that when he DIED!" she shouted grabbing it from her. She put it in her bag away from the drinkers.
((She doesn't know anything about her geomancy she's just got a wand that her Grandfather left her.))

Anka's face was acheing. His father had given him a black eye.
He lay on the floor where he'd slept all his life, eyes wide open. He heard his father's snores in the next room. His mother had died the year before. He'd always blamed Anka. He said that Anka drove him to do things he didn't want to do. 'Well maybee if I left we'd both have better lives then!' he thought.
Making sure that he was quiet. He gathered together some food and water, his blanket and his Staff which his mother had left to him, and put everything in his bag. Then using his staff as a walking stick he opened the door stepped out and made his first steps out into freedom.

((Oh cool, the twins have a cat and a dragonet now, and the cat will have a little friend! We'll have to meet up, somehow))
The snow subsided as Neva calmed down. Suddenly, a kitten's face popped out of Maya's bag. "Cosette, get back in there! I'll feed you in a little while, once we get to the hotel for the night," Maya scolded her. Of course, the ever-curious kitten darted out of Maya's bag and bolted outside. Maya slammed down a tip for her meal, grabbed both her bag and her sister's wrist, and ran out in the icy air after the kitten.
"Cosette! Cosette, where are you?" Maya called. Syler flew down onto Neva's shoulder from his perch above the door, and they jogged into the icy darkness of night
Meanwhile, Cosette had darted into an alley, and peered out. She saw a young looking girl, who just seemed like a cat-lover. Cosette made a big show of mewing, and purred as she approached the girl.
"Oh, Cosette! There you are! Sorry if she bothered you at all, she's so pampered and used to attention," Maya had found her kitten near a meat shop, close to the middle of town, and apologised to the girl nearby. "She just bolted, it's strange... She'd never do this..."
((Oh, question for ria, will I be connected to anyone in some way?))

Kalmarris looked at the slightly shorter girl. He didn't want to pick an argument as arguments were silly and pointless. Besides, his friends would go frantic if they didn't find him home at the usual time.
He smiled at the girl and then said, "Sorry for bothering you. I'll be leaving now."
