It wouldn't work simply because of the time differences. Unless Neopets was down anyway.

Whenever a lot of people get online at once, the site slows down. Lag=bad. And it's very hard to plan something like that. It just happens. (Usually when there's a plot.)

With "breaking the reccord" it will happen when it will happen, you can't really organize it happening.
