DM, I have kind of the same problem with the stretch/skew on Paint -- I think it's just that it's a limited program.
This was the first set I did and submitted earlier on:
- plain av 
av with blinkie letters
I loved the line from that song so much I decided to try doing ... something with it ... I hope you don't mind (I know, I'm not very good at this lettering thing yet - Thank You ALL for prodding me to try to learn!).

I think this one is better? I know, I'm not very good at this set making yet...maybe someday. I did "clean up" the face/hair coloring before I made the set, same as the first one.
I am actually pleased with the avatar! A first for me. The siggys are almost identical:
Same avatar, but the siggy has a couple extra frames...I couldn't decide which (if either) was better:
