I don't think Dudley's a wizard. Maybe Petunia's a squib, but I don't think her son's magical. He couldn't see the dementor, remember?

Target Practise wrote:first, as a draco fan, my statement on the next two books: If Draco dies I'm chucking the book at the wall.
Leaving that aside.

I have no clue, but Hagrid seems a fair choice. Think back to GoF, Rita Skeeter said he was son to the famous giantess Fridwulfa. Maybe she was famous because she was royal???? who knows.

I'd actually like Draco to die, or at least be locked in Azkaban for the rest of his miserable life, but that's just me...

And Hagrid's mother's famous because she killed loads of people, if my memory's being truthful. :P

That rings a bell, so I'm pretty sure that's correct.

This is kinda off topic and old news, but not sure if everyone here knows it. Apparently, the Dursley's are cut from the 4th movie :( WHY?! I mean, they don't play the most important roles in this book, but what's a HP movie without starting it at the Dursley's house?

And I suppose they'll just have Harry magically appear at Ron's house for the Quidditch World Cup. And leave everyone in the theater who hasn't read the books confused.

No way! Draco can't die! Not just because I'm extremely partial to him, but he's Harry's archrival at school, and that's an extremely infamous, if not extremely important, part. What will make the school enviorment realistic without a bully? Without little-everyday obstacles?

I think it's because of time. They're trying to fit everything into movie form within less than three hours if I'm not mistaken, so they're basically going to have to cut out everything that isn't an important plot point since the books are getting longer.

They never actually said that he couldn't see the dementor, but it didn't say that he could see it, either. By the time Harry turned on his wand (as opposed to a flashlight, lol), Dudley had already run into the fence and was on the ground. Also, at Harry's hearing, when Dumbledore is about to bring Mrs. Figg in as a witness, he said "We do, in fact, have a witness to t he presence of dementors in that alleyway, other than Dudley Dursley, I mean."

No, at the end, I mean. The last battle. If Draco becomes a DE, I'd like for him to die. I'd like for him to stay very much alive until then. He's a good character, even if I don't like him that much. :)

Oooooh. Good point. I'm starting to like that theory, now that you've pointed that out. :D

I think this is stupid. I think they should at least include the Dursley's. I'm sure they can fit them in for 5 minutes maybe.

Just like the first movie, no Sorting Hat song. I really wanted to see that :P At it only would have taken like a minute longer.

I feel a bit sorry for the boy playing Dudley.

Sun Jul 11, 2004 8:28 pm

Yeah they did say that about Dudley, and as someone says, he did fall down, and he described a Dementor attack pretty well to his parents...that would be interesting if he was a squib or something.

I don't care if Draco's a DE or not, he dies, I chuck the book at the wall. Leave a nice hole too. He's a good evil character, which is what makes him my favourite character. (plus Tom Felton is such a good actor ^^)

I kind of don't believe he's dead in the books and that its a bunch of lies to get you to think he did. Spell kill him? No. The light from the killing curse is green if I remember correctly. The light that hit him was red, or the colour of just normal light. Not green. Of course, if it happens that the correct colour for the curse was red, that washes my little thought down the drain.
Curtain kill him? Not likely.. I doubt a curtain or veil would kill, unless you clunked your head really hard on the ground. Of course, since its magical, it could do anything, including being a portkey. I like that thought. He's not dead he just went away until he can find his way home. Likely? No, but it works in depseration.

About the HBP...
Despite whatever JK Rowling says, I wouldn't rule Mark Evans out. She said the fifth book was smaller than the fourth before it was released. Just because someone says something doesn't make it truuuuuue.
But I don't think it because of the last name, but because of the Sirius thing in the first book. Mentioned once or twice, forgotten about for a while, and there he magically appeared. But then, he was mentioned in the first book, forgotten in the second and appeared in the third. So maybe Mark Evans will follow the dissappearence course and appear in the final book.
What I don't get about that theory is the last name. Unless whoever his mother was wasn't married when she had him, he wouldn't have the last name Evans, since usually married couples take the mans last name. Sure she might have kept her own last name, and he kept his but... Who's last name would the baby have? Both. Mark Evans Whatevertheguysnamewas.
I actually think I say all this because I want to believe its him and I know its not, so I'm trying to come up with logical excuses.

Gosh I've just had a thought! All these directors seem to be cutting big chunks of the book out of the films, thinking they're unimportant to the plot but what if a tiny little mindless detail was to be become important in the 6th and 7th books?! The whole plot of the HP movie series could be ruined. *gasps*

J.K. Rowling works with Steven Kloves when he writes the screenplays, she advises him on what should stay because it'll be important in later books.

I hope the movie cutouts aren't affecting the newer books...that could mean Peeves could have had a major role to play but has been edited out since WB has something against him.

yeah I was wondering why there was no Peeves. He was always a funny character to me, and I was looking forward to seeing him...

If he's not in the fifth film I'll scream. I have got to see him chasing Umbridge with McGonagall's walking stick.
