I like Greenday, but just like every other band in the world, they get old sometimes. But they're one of those bands that if you stick the CD in, you can listen to it for days at a time, take it out for a week and put it back in and its as if you never got tired of it in the first place. (to me of course, not necessarily saying they're like that for everyone. :P)

I avoid calling bands "punk" or "pop-punk" because everyone has different definations of "punk" and "pop-punk" and for the sake of Igg's pink hippos, its really not worth arguing about. Ditto with the 'sell-out' issue, honestly, who cares? If you like them, listen to them, if not, thats fine. No-ones putting a gun to your head about it.

How does one define sell-out anyway? o_O

Well said Nessa! I agree. The whole sell-out issue is silly and should be umm..put to rest. *nods*

Please check if there is already a thread on the subject (and there already is one here.)

Running through the field where all my tracks will be concealed and there's nowhere to go...

Hate them, everyone in my school things there rockers and crap because they listen to Green Day, plus it adds to the sk8ter rock movement. I'm a metaller through and through, there not in Hit Parader's Heavy Metal Encyclopida (Vol. 1) so it doesn't have a chance with me plus I guess it's far away from any type of Techno music (I'm German it's like a requirement I like it).

I wouldn't have really said Green Day could be related with "sk8er rock". Most people at my school think American Idiot is Green Day's first album. >_< Ah well. I guess both school are as bad as each other, eh? :P

Guy in my ICT class went "So Amy, you're going to see Green Day are you? They've only got two songs haven't they?" *shakes head*

I'm surprised their song "American Idiot" didn't trigger any controversy.

Have you listened to the album at all?! The whole things politically orientated and anti-Bush save a couple.

No, I haven't had time to listen to it all. I have job, you see, working at the dance studio I have attended for years. I work as a junior teacher, and I'm very busy making our dance for the "Merry Summer" show at the end of June at Rowan University. But thankyou Twinkle, I'll try to make time to listen more carefully. :)

It probably didn't trigger any controversey because I doubt George Busg would be bothered about bands forming albums or stuff about him. I haven't heard anything about "Rock Against Bush Vol 1 & 2" triggering any controversy either. o_O

You're just saying that because they're sell-outs.

Yes, American idiot is politically orientated, but it didn't have what I assume was the desired impact.

I'm not suprised, it was probably just a way to appeal to more people, to sell more albums. o_O And the whole Punk Voter thing to make people feel as if they were doing something for themselves, yet they had to be told by bands they liked. :/

*screams* I hate the term 'sell-out'.

I don't think it made much of a difference, nope. Did it make any difference? Nope.

Yes Andrew, I do quite admire that. BRainwash people into thinking that they have their own minds...because you tell them so. Fabulous. I love US teenagers.
