Hi guys, didn't want to post about the nomination before because I wasn't sure what the result would be, but it's official as of today. I'm only copying part of the email because a lot of it contains sensitive information, but here's the crux of it. Just told the family who is estatic, and to couple with it, it is dad's birthday so it's going to be awsome.
First thing I need to do is read through all these attachments (there's a ton) and then get stuck into my role which starts officially next week!
COO is another way of saying CEO... or President etc.

So, after talking with *****, he is interested in still maintaining the chapter president role at Melbourne. He, like Victoria, also expressed his confidence in you leading the Australia region. There is a slightly sensitive part of this transition for you in that Alvin now reports to you and you are his manager, which can be a tricky situation since he was probably in a more senior role at the chapter previously. I don't think it will be a major issue though.
In any case, congratulations! you are the new Chief Operating Officer Australia. Hope you have started reading all the documents and e-mails I sent you. They are very relevant to your COO position. Hope you have also read the timeline for expansion that I forwarded you.
