It depends on if I've just seen it being half filled, or if I've just seen someone drink half of it. If it's just been filled, it's half full, if someone's been drinking out of it, it's half empty.

Since by default glasses are empty (at least to me), I see them as half full. Nothing to do with pessimism or optimism.

Depends. If the glass was first filled to the top and someone drank it, it would be half empty. But if it was just filled halfway, then it's half full.
