I made Deoxys playable in my SSBB! I got mad when I saw him here. They totally ruined him as a character in my game. I've worked around that though

Why isn't anyone throwing guesses at the other third-party characters? We all know Snake is in, they mentioned that Sonic most likely isn't, and there are still two or three slots to be filled, but who else should be in there? RockMan? Cloud? Kite? Simon Belmont would be nice. *pretends that there aren't only 30/(classified) Nintendo-owned characters in his SSBB*

Cloud won't as he's never been on an NES system (unless he was in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, but that's stretching it)

Megaman sounds like a decent possiblity, but guesses about who may or should be in it have been done over and over again over the last year alone. xD

Sora would make it before Roxas, but Sora might be a possibility, if they can somehow get rights to using it. The problem is that Snake WAS Nintendo before it ever went to the Playstation (I had some of the old Metal Gear games), so that's why they can use it so easily. On top of that, whomever is the big name in those games (I've completely forgotten. xD) supposedly begged that they include him.

So to get in, it's going to be difficult for most people to be included.

I really doubt we would see anyone that is already too established in a third-party fighting. Cool people like Ryu or Terry Bogard or Kasumi wouldn't make mostly since a good developer wouldn't want to see the characters changed too much from their established forms. (Plus, Nintendo would want Zelda or Samus being their hottest character in the game, not Kasumi).

You also have too look at it as one character per third-party company. Rock/MegaMan would be a good bet from Capcom since he is their main mascot, very popular, and would have a good skill set that would be adapted to the game. Sure he has been in the Marvel vs Capcom games, but he wasn't as prominant a star of that series. (Personally, I would prefer Zero, but to each their own).

If Megaman doesn't get Capcom in, Resident Evil might be another bet. The recent release of Nintendo-only games helps the case for one of their characters migating. This would be an outside chance given that the Blue Bomber would be a better choice, but it is an option that should not be overlooked.

Another good bet might be someone from the Golden Sun series. Great series. Great fan-base. Large array of characters. Established on the GBA. You can probably develop a pretty good character from the material. Best of all, if they exclude Golden Sun, we can have Christopher storm the developer and lay seige to them

Finally, I will put US$100 on the table right now that Square Enix will not get any character from any of their series in SSBB. A lot of them would be cool to have beat the heck out of Mario and Pikachu. A lot of fans would love to see it. I just doubt that SE would send one of their characters to be used like this.

Wow. Looks like they are going to add some real story or something to the game and give it a little more depth than before. Of course they release this on a Friday making us wait forever to see what comes next. The guy doesn't look playable to me though...

And to Meta Knight, he has been in dozens of pics so far without a single mention. I was calling foul about that with him and ZS Samus, but they finally got to her.

...wow. Today's update is making me even more anxious for this game (as if that was even possible). Kirby looks absolutely adorable in the screencshots.

The only reason they've held out so long on Meta Knight is because he's the character I wanted most in Brawl (finding out he was in last year pretty much made my lifetime). So go ahead, blame me for the wait.

What about Super Mario RPG? I know there's tons of people who'd want to see Geno and Mallow in there, and since the game is 1) partly owned by Nintendo, 2) is part of the Mario series, and 3) was on a previous Nintendo platform (SNES), they have a decent chance of getting in. True, the characters themselves are owned by Square, but that doesn't meant they have no chance of getting in. You are right in that people like Sora and Cloud definitely won't be in Brawl, but I wouldn't go as far to say -any- character.

Geez. I feel like such a dope now. I completely forgot about Mario RPG (which was precisely the reason I added Geno to my game) I therefore take back the 'no SE' remark and replace it with: We demand Geno! Geno Forever! Thanks for the reminder.
