How to Make a Polymer Clay Abominable Snowball

You will need
- Polymer clay. Mainly White, a little bit of black, and two other colors.
- Sculpting tools. I have some clay tools I use, but toothpicks and your fingers should be fine.
- Something to cut the clay with. An old butter knife is fine, but it should NOT be used for food after using it on clay. It can also be easily cut with a strand of dental floss held taut between your hands.
- A surface to work on. I personally take a section of the newspaper and wrap it with wax paper. The clay tends to get stuck to whatever you work on, so make sure you aren't working on a surface the clay might destroy (i.e. carpet!).
- Clear nail polish (not shown, optional). This is to make the eyes look glossy.


Step 1
Make a long strip of green about a foot and a half long and a red one too. Cut about 4 inches of green, then red. Push the green next to the red and repeat until its about 2 and a half inches tall.


Step 2
Roll two white round shapes with the white clay, one slightly bigger than the other. Put the slightly smaller white ball on top of the larger one.






Step 3
Cut a strip about a cm wide off the stripe slab and wrap it around the crease between the two balls. There should be some space left, so cut another strip and wrap it around starting at the gap and wrap it all the way until there's a little left, like a scarf.





Step 4
Cut another strip and wrap it around the head. Then build it up to a point.


Step 5
Put on the eyes, but make sure that they are on the side that the end of the scarf is on. Then put on the mouth. There you have it, your own Abominable Snowman!
