Cooking with Pudding: Southern Fried Tofu

Here in Kentucky, we know how to fry things. Bananas, twinkies, veggies...other things I won't mention for fear of lawsuits...and much more! Today on Cooking with Pudding, I'm going to teach you how to make tasty fried tofu!
Tofu:
- 1 pound firm tofu (better if frozen & thawed)
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 3 tbsp. orange juice
- 4 tbsp. mustard
Cut tofu into 1.5" blocks and marinate in mixture of soy sauce and orange juice. Refrigerate for 20 minutes to an hour. Cover marinated tofu blocks with a thin layer of mustard to prepare them for...
Breading:
- 1 tbsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. ground oregano
- 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/2 tsp. celery salt
- 1/2 tsp. onion salt
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. rubbed sage
- 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. crushed marjoram leaves
- 1/2 tsp. rosemary leaves
- 1 cup flour
Mix spices thoroughly and add to flour. Cover tofu blocks with flour mixture.
Cooking Instructions
Fry in a skillet on medium heat with 1/2 cup of olive oil until crispy and golden brown. Serve with your favorite side dishes and enjoy!
Always have an adult present when cooking!
