PPT in the First Half of November 2005

It's official, one of our global moderators, Iconoplast, has had her little baby girl. She has both feet, a button nose, and irresistibly cute features. Has anyone checked out her fingernails and toenails? It's amazing how small they are. The little girl is one week old now, and rumor has it that the little princess is called Kyra. Why am I excited? This heralds the second PPTer generation! When they grow up to be 6-7, we can start bossing them around and making them do all our menial tasks such as making us coffee, and baking us cakes! Of course, there are some drawbacks. For example, one of our forum administrator's kids once banned a few of our staff members by accident causing mass mayhem resulting in a nation-wide outcry of an imminent alien invasion. I can hardly wait. Kyra, we shall make a monkey out of you yet!
Just kidding, I wish Iconoplast all the best as she faces the sleepless nights ahead of her.
On a more unfortunate note, Sapphire Faerie has officially stepped down from the post of PPT Moderator, citing personal health reasons for her departure, which I completely support. She's still around however, now parading as a member, although she has some valuable inside information. I'm sure if you tickle her enough, she may tell you. On a more brighter note, Sapphire Faerie has had a brand new, killer, haircut. She chopped it all off and now sports a funky can't-touch-this bob. Look out people! Sapphire Faerie coming through. She's got a brand new hairbrush to complement her haircut, and she's not afraid to use it.
So with Iconoplast busy with her new child, and an empty moderator position, rumors have been floating around that applications will be opening soon. Sources close to administration have leaked to trashy magazines (god bless them) that they'll be open soon, but then again, it is from a trashy magazine, and when there is no credible source, they always reference them to "a dear friend", "a close associate", or "a trusted protégé". So please don't come to me asking me, because I will karate chop you into little glittery pieces of faerie dust and then scatter you into the ocean where fishes can eat your glittery goodness so they, in turn, can glitter, especially when they do their yearly migration through the topics and their scales reflect the sunlight aided by the glitterness that you have become.
So the forums have been paid a visit from Snarkie and Mr. Insane, Neopets staff members, who promptly informed us all that the next clues have already been released but we were all missing some critical component. Darn it! Mr. Insane, I hope to god the rewards are worth all this commitment to the plot, because if it isn't, I will personally write you a polite letter asking you to give me a Dark Rod of Supernova plzkthnx.
The official "Spread the Love" campaign has started over at PPT with people displaying their undying allegiance to PPT in the form of a button. What they don't know of course is that there's a little footnote at the end that says by displaying such button, they are giving us the rights to their firstborn child.
NaNoWriMo has officially begun and a number of PPTers are participating this year. What people must do is type 1,000 words a day, every day for a month and at the end of the month, each person should have a book, or the beginnings of a book. I'm already witnessing a few people falling ever so slightly behind. For example, Cyanna, and I quote, "Already I'm over 1000 words behind. Not good.", while Jasujo seems to have a little trouble writing. Forest_Majesty also appears to be approximately 1,000 words behind but not to fear, I shall be there to help them. *whip whip*
In other news, after myself and Rune scoured the internet looking for the original PPT Forum banners (because the PPTbies are finished and we want to restore the images), we finally found them on my computer! They're uploaded now and the forum is back to normal. Before we found them however, we, of course, knew that Yoshi had them all somewhere on the internet, saved somewhere in his folder. It took us about 5 minutes to find the actual site, but alas the folder was password protected. This was unacceptable. We were men (and woman) on a mission, and nothing could stop us. We wanted the forum banner restored to its original condition. So we tried to guess the password. I began with "hello" and Rune tried "limesoda". Alas, our subsequent attempts such as "yukioissocool" and "iloverune" didn't work.
So I was randomly browsing around the Pink Ink, an awesome online magazine run by some hyperactive PPTers who eat vitamin C like candy, and I found a hilarious article by Simon, called "Simon Says", a reference to Simon Cowell, the truthful judge at American Idol and Pop Idol (also the creator of X-Factor and So You Think You Can Dance). Here's something that the article says in regards to Green Day, their song "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and their new album "American Idiot":
"Their new video, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", makes no sense. How can you walk alone besides two other people and a street full of people? I guess we know who's the American Idiot here."
Funny, but I still like Green Day.
I was browsing there because I was looking for this image that Yoshi created a while back when PPT went kablamo.
The PPT Forum went offline for some maintenance today and people were starting to speculate horrible things. Looking at that image is funny, makes me want to create a PPT comic. The only thing I need now is a character name. Pete? Pip? Pipity? (Obvious references to PPT.) PPT Pete? The Adventures of PPT Pete? The misAdventures of Pipety Pete? Maybe he serves some tea but thinks it's pee? Who knows!
So the article writing contest at PPT has now finished. Phew! After reading through all the entries and uploading them unto the site, I've decided one the winner and some honorable mentions. Awesome entries this time around, and for anyone wanting to enter the next round, details are listed here.
The NeoDex is going great. The article count is starting to grow up and activity there has increased muchly. Now all we need are slaves. *whip whip* Heerrm, I mean, servants who work for minimum wage and do whatever we tell them to do. YAAAH!
The Daily Neopets looks to be doing very well. Tipem redesigned the website, and added the forum there now for Neopets news junkies. It's getting up there amongst the 1,000 visitors a day mark. I want to eat it.
So there you go. Rememeber, spread the love because we love you. Remember to leave a note on that thread letting us know that you've joined in so we can add you to the official count.
