Role-playing -- What makes PPT so special!

Written by: Ammer

For as long as I can remember, role-playing has been a large asset to the PPT community; large enough that a specific forum was created dedicated solely to it. Many PPTers can unleash their imagination into a role-play and invite others to join in the journey along with them. Role-plays created about fantasy, horror, adventure, and many more are becoming a popular fad in the role-play forum.

Role-players from all around the world come to this board to participate in or create their own role-plays. A select few role-plays carry on for many months and eventually end up being named one of the greatest role-plays in PPT history. I recently sat down with an avid role-player, Twizzler0171, who had a lot to say about role-playing.

"I like being another person sometimes, and role-playing is the perfect opportunity to do that, and stay myself at the same time. Not that I'd know any other way, of course!"

When asked about the skills needed for role-playing, this is what Twizzler had to say:

"Imagination is a must. If you don't have imagination, there isn't much you can do to move the plot along. Good grammar also helps a lot, for others, if not for you. The love for role-playing in general helps as well. If you don't enjoy role playing, then you won't bother to work on the skills that you do have."

Even with this avid role-player role-playing, it seems that role-plays have died down ever since the forums restarted. As a role-player, Twizzler noticed that the role-playing has decreased popularity wise.

"Role-playing popularity wise has decreased, unfortunately. However, I am happy to report that its popularity is growing once more, but it will be a long time before it reaches its former popularity."

Even though role-plays are gaining back their popularity, they are still at an all time low. Perhaps role-plays can gain back their edge and become as popular as they were before. But I know for a fact that role-playing will never die and will always remain in the hearts of many PPTers. As a wise person once said,

"As long as there are role-players, role-plays will never die."
