Neoquest I: How -not- to fail miserably

Written by: Xil

Neoquest can be quite the difficult game for those of us who don't understand it. Alas, many newer Neopians go on playing the game without a clue as to where to go, what to do, and how to do it, assuming that they have it all set to play in the first place. Unfortunately for them, they also rarely have what they think they do. Hopefully this semi-guide will give you an idea of how to play Neoquest with a manner that will better your experience and make the game in general, easier to master (and win that trophy as well!).

NQI opens with your main character, a courageous white lupe, deciding where to place his first 7 ability points. These 7 points will shape the rest of the game for you, so make sure you do it right. Essentially, you do not want to be a jack of all trades in NQI, if you are, then you're abilities are spread so thin that they'll barely ever activate, and when they do…they wont be doing much! For the sake of our sanity (and my minute HTML skills, we'll be using a three tree system--Meaning only three of the trees will have any powers on them.

Life Magic Spectral Magic Shock Magic

Life Weapons - 1

Field Medic - 1

Lifesteal - 1

Ressurection - 1

Spectral Weapons - 1

Evasion - 1

Absorption - 1

Reflex

Shock Weapons

Disable

Fortitude

Shockwave

Those three trees of magic are the most commonly recommended, they will allow you to evade, heal, and stun. Essentially, it gives you an upper hand in battle. I usually recommend the layout of original points shown above (in bold). I prefer to leave Shock Magic’s’ until later because they aren't as important until level 15-20, when you get to The Jungle Temple.

Well, hopefully this guide helped you. :) Good luck and remember to have fun!
