The Happy Valley main map

Terror Mountain is the snow and ice world of Neopia. Terror Mountain is made of three maps, first of which is Happy Valley, a snowy hamlet at the foot of the mountain with shops and games for users to play. Next is the Ice Caves where users can visit The Snowager or buy a scratchcard with Neopoints. Last is Terror Mountain itself where some shops and games like Cliffhanger are available.

Sections

Happy Valley

Opened 9th November 2000, Happy Valley is a merry section of Terror Mountain where Neopets (usually Bruces and Blumaroos) can be found frolicking in the snow, and acts as the entrance to Terror Mountain. Acts as the "Christmas" world of Neopets, and contains the Advent Calendar, and even allows users to print off Neopets themed gift tags. you may also want to see the Slushie Shop or look at the pets in their Christmas outfits at the Merry Outfits Shop

Ice Caves

Opened 4th December 2000, the Ice Caves reside deep within Terror Mountain and stretching far into surrounding glaciers. The caves have lain undisturbed for thousands of years, but since it's release has become a tourist attraction, featuring the Battledome's Ice Arena, and is the home of the Snowager, where users can attempt to steal its treasure at the times 6:00:00 - 6:59:59 AM, 2:00:00 - 2:59:59 PM, and 10:00:00 to 10:59:59 PM NST, while it is sleeping.

The Ice Caves also contain a scratch card kiosk, the Neggery where normal Neggs may be exchanged for special varieties, and shopping areas, including the Ice Crystals Shop, where weapons such as the Freezing Potion and Spicy Snowflakes may be found.

Terror Mountain

Released 5th January 2001, the section of Terror Mountain called Terror Mountain is the peak of the mountain. Besides containing links to games and shops, there is also a links to Colouring Pages, The Snow Faerie's Quest, and a Neopedia link to Poogle Racers on the map itself (still active as of February 13, 2007).

Yooyuball

Terror Mountain's Yooyuball Team Logo

Terror Mountain's Yooyuball team was known as "the worst team a fortune can buy" in 2006, due to the collection of talented players who failed to come together and play as a team when they were defeated by Darigan Citadel. Terror Mountain's management has since begun moving away from their overpriced free agent signings of years past and started rebuilding for the future. The centrepiece of the youth movement was Osielle Lidel, a speedy young forward who stepped in to replace Tico Tems in 2007. While Lidel has the makings of a future superstar, it could by a year or two before he has the kind of team around him ready to seriously challenge the Altador Cup.

Team positions are as follows (bolded notes the Team Captain):

Year Goalkeeper Left Defender Right Defender Left Forward Right Forward
2006 Minae Mitora Selwick Phoss Rinok Fitel Prytariel Tico Tems
2007 Osielle Lidel
2008 Elbin Kroe
2009

Climate

The weather is usually very cold all year round, with lots of snow and strong winds, especially in the winter when the temperature could dip down to as low as -50 degrees Celcius. In the summer the temperature is usually around 0 degrees Celcius.

Trivia

  • The Ice Caves used to only be accessible with the use of an ice totem, which was gained by signing up with a sponsored advertisement.
  • In NeoQuest II, a Chia settlement called Chia Oscuro (from chiaroscuro, art using contrast between light and dark) exists on the mountain, where they speak a different language to most Neopians. It is not clear whether this settlement actually exists, or whether it is a creation of the simulation in the game.
  • The Neopedia article for Terror Mountain was released on November 16, 2007.
