It is important to note this was before the introduction of pets like the Krawk or Draik, and the only colour exclusive to the Lab Ray was Robot. The Rainbow Fountain was shut down within a few months, as is common for sponsor related Freebies.
In its current state, the Rainbow Fountain is only active after a user has completed a quest for Fountain Faerie. Additionally, there are certain restrictions on which colors can be painted; Robot, Royal, Ice, Sponge, Usuki, Quiguki, 8-Bit, or MSP are all unavailable, even if the pet species is generally available in that color.
