The Blumaroo is a kangaroo-like Neopet, released on May 25, 2000. Blumaroos are well known for their long spring like tails, which they bounce on from place to place. On any normal sunny day, Blumaroos would most likely be seen bouncing around and singing, humming or whistling a tune. Blumaroos are very easy going and enjoy games.

Blumaroos are originally from a small island named Roo Island, which is just off the coast of Neopia Central. The Island is ruled by the naively benevolent King Roo and his possibly malevolent councillor, Advisor Broo. However, Blumaroos can now be seen all over Neopia.

In the Neopets Trading Card Game, Blumaroos are associated with the element of Air.

Battledome

In the Battledome, Blumaroos receive 10% less damage from Air attacks. There are also six species abilities that can be used by Blumaroos:

  • Blumaroo Whistle - Attack: 2 - 3 x Air, 2 - 3 x Earth; Defence: none; available from level 1;
  • Blumaroo Dodge - Attack: none; Defence: 7 x Physical (reflect); available from level 2;
  • Blumaroo Punch - Attack: 2 x Light; Defence: none; available from level 15;
  • Blumaroo Bump - Attack: 2 x Air, 2 x Earth, 1 - 2 x Physical; Defence: none; available on Blumaroo Day only;
  • Blumaroo Stare - Attack: 2 x Darkness, 2 x Earth; Defence: none; available on Blumaroo Day only;
  • Blumaroo Bounce - Attack: none; Defence: 2 - 4 x Earth, 1 - 4 x Physical; available on Blumaroo Day only;

There are also fourteen pieces of equipment that can only be used by a Blumaroo.

Colours

As of August 2010, they can be painted in 51 different colours, including the seahorse-inspired Maraquan style, and Halloween, looking like Count Von Roo himself.

Trivia

  • As of October 2009, the Blumaroo is ranked about 36th out of 54 species, with over a little over 2.8 million populating Neopia.
  • Comparisons are often drawn between Blumaroos and the character Tigger from the Winnie-the-Pooh series. This was alluded to in the early Caption Competition #7.
  • The Aquatic Petpet Baby Blu's head closely resembles a Blumaroo's.
