Denethrir is a scholar in NeoQuest I, having traveled to the Jungle Ruins to do a bit of studying there. When he went down to the dungeons for some exploring, monsters attacked him and he fled to the second floor, where there were none. Since there were so many books and papers, somehow magically preserved, lying about up there, he was quite satisfied to stay there. There was probably also some food and water up there.
After he studied several of the works there, he learned the secret of the Gaia Wands, weapons which he could craft for the NeoQuest Hero to aid him on his journey.
