The Zafara is a kangaroo-like Neopet released on May 25, 2000 as the winner of a player-submitted Neopet competition, which originally resembled chinese dragons, but were later redesigned on February 27, 2001.

Overview
The Zafara is said to bring good luck to those who treat them well. According to a Neopet profiles screensaver, Zafaras are some of the most sensitive and artistic inhabitants of Neopia. Most Zafaras spend a lot of time playing alone when young, but often grow up to be famous musicians, painters and poets.

Zafaras primarily have three spikes on their back, but this changes in accordance with different colours and characters. According to the information on an old default Zafara petpage, these spikes were protective fins and used for defence. Zafaras have an incredible hearing range, but they do not have a good sense of smell. Due to their powerful hind legs, the Zafara has a jumping ability unlike other Neopets. Zafaras have an innate ability to create fire as made apparent with their level 2 Battledome ability Zafara Flame.

Trivia
*As of February 2007, over 4.6 million Zafaras have been created, ranking them 18th out of 54 species in popularity. They are also featured in 100 different items and come in 43 different colours...
The Hidden Tower is an invisable tower located in Faerieland, part of Fyora's palace. Opened to the public on January 17, 2001, the Hidden Tower stores a variety of magical artifacts Fyora sells in order to raise money for Faerieland. The majority of these items are Battledome Equipment, of which are a collection of the most powerful in the Battledome, making them highly sought by users.

The Hidden Tower stood for many years completely forgotten in a hidden courtyard overrun with weeds. One of the reasons it lay undisturbed for so long was its invisible enchantment. It was rediscovered by Fyora's maid Celandra when she found a trapdoor hiding behind a bookshelf, and while cleaning saw a pair of shadows walk through a doorway which appeared from out of nowhere. The original purpose of the tower is not known, but it is assumed to be an armoury of rare and dangerous weapons, a storehouse to keep items safe from others, or as a hiding place.

Stock
Items in the Hidden Tower have an item rarity of 200 and cannot be obtained through Random Events. They are very expensive with prices ranging from a few hundred thousand to sixteen million neopoints. Items will not be for sale some of the time for Fyora to restock, though this is just a formality as unlike regular Neopian shops, there is effectively an unlimited supply of the items users can buy until they are retired.

Dr. Frank Sloth is an evil scientist bent on the destruction of Neopets and Neopia. After the Space Faerie destroyed his mass mutation ray in the Arrival of Virtupets plot, and left his prized space station, Virtupets drifting in orbit, Sloth went into hiding, distributing Transmogrification Potions, only occasionally getting involved with the rest of Neopia.

A plot, called The Return of Doctor Sloth, was cancelled in favour of the Hannah and the Ice Caves plot.

Dr Sloth sometimes masquerades around Neopia as The Happiness Faerie. Like Jelly World, this is an inside joke in that despite The Happiness Faerie being poorly disguised with cardboard wings, no one can quite put their finger on who the Faerie is similar to.

His greatest achievements were the enslavement of the Grundos, an alien-like race, and his creation of the Transmogrification Potions, which change a Neopet into a mutated version.

Plot Info
Arrival of Virtupets
:Main Article: Arrival of Virtupets
In August 2000, The Neopets Team ran a plot in which Dr. Sloth came to Neopia with a giant, orbital space station and mutation ray, with plans of taking over Neopia and repopulating it with his Virtupets. In an encoded message, however, it was revealed that he actually intended to mutate all the Neopets of the planet. He was stopped by the Space Faerie, who reversed Dr Sloth's mutation ray and caused it to explode, leaving the abandoned station in orbit.

Brucey B and the Lucky Coin
:Main Article: Brucey B and the Lucky Coin
Having watched Brucey B play in the 3rd Annual Cheat! Championships, Dr. Sloth recognised the coin Brucey was using to win every game. Setting up a high-profile Cheat! game, a Jetsam working for Sloth won all of Brucey's money, and betted it against Brucey' Lucky Coin. He played one four, and as Brucey had already played four fours, he declared the Jetsam cheating. Somehow, Jetsam had cheated at Cheat!, and did, in fact, have the last four.

Dr. Sloth then used the coin to gain entrance to one of the pyramids in the Lost Desert, and raided the tomb. Loading the plunder onto a space ship, he used the artefact he had found there, the Staff of Alhasutek, to wage a war on Sakhmet. Although the attack started well, Dr. Sloth soon had to use the staff to summon the Rock Beast to hold off the defenders, and when it was defeated, did not have time to reanimate it before Brucey B destroyed the staff.

The weapon's destruction reversed its curses, and Dr. Sloth made his escape in a space ship built into one of the towers of the city.

Neopet Version 2
:Main Article: Neopet Version 2
When Dr Sloth left the Space Station, he left behind an experiment called Neopet Version 2, which took hostage several Neopets on vacation, in a lift. When the Neopian Population wrote to Sloth, he briefly discussed how NPv2 would be deactivated, but didn't think the Neopians could actually do it.

Hannah and the Ice Caves
:Main Article: Hannah and the Ice Caves
A mock ending was made for Hannah and the Ice Caves, where Dr. Sloth appeared and changed Hannah into a Mutant, claiming revenge against her for cancelling his own plot. A few users were able to catch it before it was reverted to the true ending.

The Doughnutfruit is a popular type of Tropical Food from Mystery Island. It gets its name from the shape of the fruit, which resembles a ring doughnut, and that many varieties possess a similar taste to various confectioneries, including doughnuts and muffins.

The fruit, as featured in Hasee Bounce, is one of the staple foods of the colony of Hasees on Mystery Island. The PetPets developed a see-saw mechanism in order to reach the fruit, which grows high up in the Island's canopies. Commercially, the number of varieties of different Doughnutfruit have encouraged a collectors trade in them - indeed, there is even a book, Doughnutfruit Collectors Guide, for this very purpose. In addition to being eaten as a fruit, they can be used in hot drinks and as a sandwich filling.

That the Doughnutfruit is only seen in hot drinks and not fruit juices suggests it could be similar to the aubergine or banana.

Varieties of Doughnutfruit
There are thirteen different varieties of Doughnutfruit. Each of these is named after its appearance, with the exception of one type, a light brown in colour, which is called just Doughnutfruit.

These varieties are, in alphabetical order:

Doughnutfruit Derivatives
There are several products sold that list Doughnutfruits as ingredients. These are the Doughnutfruit Sandwich, Grilled Doughnutfruit, and Hot Doughnutfruit Juice.

Products based on the Doughnutfruit
The design of the Doughnutfruit has been mimicked in several other products - particularly in candy. In 2004, the Advent Calendar released a Chocolate Doughnutfruit, and the Chocolate Factory sells Hard Doughnutfruit Candies. Additionally, there is an unreleased image of a Doughnutfruit lollypop on the Neopets Image Servers.

There is also a Rainbow Doughnutfruit Plushie, also released from the Advent Calendar in 2004.

Trivia
*In the Petpet Adventures: The Wand of Wishing PlayStation Portable game, Doughnutfruits can be used to heal 35 HP.
*In Hasee Bounce, there are also purple and orange Doughnutfruit shaped into the letters 'H', 'a', 's', and 'e'.
Underwater Fishing is a fishing game found in an underwater cave in Old Maraqua. These caves give a users Neopet a chance to fish for an item. The item caught is random, but as a pet's fishing skill increases new items become available. Fishing skill is increased at random when a Neopet successfully fishes for any item. The higher the fishing skill, the more likely a valuable item will be received.

A Neopet can check to see if they have something on their fishing line at any time, but receiving a prize is a timed event, and if not enough time has passed since the last visit, nothing is awarded. It's believed users should check back once every 2-12 hours depending on their Neopets fishing skill.

Fishing skill can also be raised by having a Neopet read the book Fishing Made Easy. This increases fishing skill by 1-3, and just like real books can only be read once to a Neopet. The book is a prize while fishing and it is currently believed a minimum fishing skill 20 is needed to be caught.
Trivia
*Users can receive the Fishing - Titanic Squid Avatar when their Neopets fishing skill is at least 80 and catch a Titanic Giant Squid.
*Users at fishing level 40 and over could catch a book called "waterlogged book". Though it was always classified as a book item, neopets could not decipher the runny text until August 10th, 2005.
