Pink Poogle Toy Forum

I have been wondering this for weeks and weeks and haven't known where to find the answer and for some reason didn't think of asking it here, where SOMEONE will know the answer because you are all so lovely and great

So here goes.

I have the Neopets Toolbar. It's really useful for my dailies and means I make more NP because I don't forget to do anything. The question is, on most of the dalies, Tombola, shrine, healing springs etc. There is a button AFTER you have completed the daily saying 'Go back to Meridell' or 'Return to the Lost Desert' or 'Cast your Line Again' or 'Leave this place'

I know that to score in underwater fishing the next time, you have to cast your line again.

My question is, in order to score with the dailies, do you have to click the 'return to blah blah' button. I tend to just go back to the toolbar and chose the next in the line, whilst on the screen WITH the button rather than going back to whereever. I want to know whether that is hindering me at all.

I hope this made sense, I have only just got up and the screen still looks a bit fuzzy

Well, on the one hand, I absolutely never get good things on any dailies. Not once have I ever recieved a PB from a daily and I very [veryveryveryveryVERY] rarely get codestones from Tombola. In fact, I practically never get so much as a booby prize from Tombola.

On the other hand, I do, on the uncommon occasion, get prizes. The usual cheap items or a rare codetsone from Tombola. So it's definitely not an absolute requirement for prizes.
Although, for the Deserted Tomb, I do have this habit of clicking the return button. I still never get anything from it, though.

I have hit other return buttons sometimes, but it's never helped me afterwards.

It might be an interesting thing to try. I'll start hitting the return buttons and see if my prizes get any better (though I doubt that's the cause of my bad luck).

Well I don't know about clicking "return to such and such" to help you with your dailies, but I had no idea that clicking "cast your line again" was a requirement for leveling up on underwater fishing for the next time!

I don't think so. I rarely press the little "Return to wherever" button. I go to Explore and on to the next daily.

Someone on here told me that, I have tested it and it does seem to have some thruth in it, I couldn't figure out why I was never catching anything, but after realising this, I started catching something most of the time.

I don't know how valid that "cast your line again" really is. I never used to do it, and I'd still get fish and rarer items. But I haven't gotten the titanic squid yet, so I decided to start doing it. If anything, I've gotten crappier prizes lately (a lot more nothing's too) -- and still no avatar (my pets are at level 105, 77, 71 and 22).

As for the other dailies, I only ever hit the button if I want to go back to that world (so Tombola and the shrine). I used to hit it all the time, thinking that was required to get my prize. I've seen no difference in my luck, so I really don't think it makes a difference.

All my dailies are in my favourites, so I just go down the list as I do them, I have never used the "return to" buttons.

I have won some fairly decent prizes on all wheels/tombola/shrine etc.

I never usually click on the "cast your line again", sometimes I do it by accident if I am not paying attention. I have never noticed any change in the ratio of levels given. I am going to give it try to see if it helps.

No. It doesn't even logically make sense for something you do in the future to affect what has already happened in the past. Once you collect your daily, the information is sent off and you're done. The dailey's aren't connected to each other in any way either. How you did at the fruit machine has no affect on how you'll do at the Shrine. The fishing thing is also not true as I've always used the back button to take each of my pets, and I have perfectly normal levels for the time I've been fishing. I have even caught the odd rare item, like the pikepike.

I never click the 'Cast your line again' button.

I have had the Titanic Giant Squid avatar since my first pet was at level 85.

My pets are now between level 141 and 166.

I catch multiple items every day. I've never had anything insanely good (like flash of rainbow water or swirly potion), but don't catch very bad things much anymore either.

I don't think clicking the cast again button does anything other than return you to the UwF front page. Same for other back/return buttons.

The secret to moving up in levels quickly (and hence get the avatar quicker, if you don't have it already) is fishing every few hours (three or four) with all your pets. Quite often you'll catch nothing at all, but you never know when you'll get lucky and move up a few levels in less than a day.

Well you see, I wasn't getting anything for ages and ages with the fishing, and someone on here told me to make sure I was casting my line again. I have tried not casting my line since then, and I didn't get anything, but it seems that was just a coincidence.

Okay, well, thanks everyone, that has set my mind at rest. Now I just have to find another reason why I am so unlucky!

Interesting. I always cast my line again and never get good items, and almost never seem to go up in levels. I'll try leaving it and see what happens.

Though, last night, something really funny did happen. As I was doing my dailies, I started with the Symol Hole, got nothing. Went all the way back to neopia from there, then got a snowglobe from the Deserted Tomb, a potion from the Healing Springs and a booby prize from Tombola. Normally I wouldn't get even this many small items in a day. It's probably coincidence, but it's still pretty funny.
(Maybe if I keep clicking all the way back to the front page, I'll get a paintbrush. )
