Is there something I should hunt for, like on Neopet's birthday?

Nope. As far as I know, Neopets doesn't celebrate "anniversaries", with the exception of their own birthday.

They do log your pet's birthday (when they were created) and there are BD benefits for that day, if I remember correctly.

Maybe he's referring to the old pet day battle moves? Like on how pet days they used to say "For today only, Scorchios have three new abilities!"

But they stopped those a long time ago...

oh yeeeeahhhhhhhhhh i remember those! Those WERE kind of dumb.. and useless. Haha.. they shouldve let your pet keep the abilities... so every year you have the pet on neopest, he requires more skill as he gets older! Oh well.... yeah, i guess the only thing you ever get is a sidebar for your birthday. You really dont even get extra events or anything...... ugh.

SHE meant battle dome, and on the pets creation day and not on the pet pay. I did not know that they stopped doing that.

Well it is fun to celebrate. You can feed your pet's foods they like or cake. There are a few foods my pets seem to really like and almost always give the "Yes Yes, I want another ___" responce when I feed it to them. I think it is really just random but I like to pretend my pets have favorite foods based on if they say that a lot. Also if there is an item that means a lot to you that you have always wanted then you could splurge on that. Or just put the pets up in the Neolodge to pretend they are having a great holiday.

Other than that, nothing special happens on your pet's birthdays. I wish that could change, though. It would be nice if something special did happen.
But right now you just have to do your own pretending.

Sounds like a good time to start a tradition. I alread missed my oldest pet's birthday (he was adopted). Myabe I'll try something NEW.
