Lost Desert Plot Discussion #2 (Split)

Sat Sep 03, 2005 11:43 pm

Continue with the plot discussion here :)

Previous thread: http://www.pinkpt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20180

- The plot
- The Fortune Teller
- The Temple of One-Thousand Tombs

Known Facts:

Eveyone's tomb, doors, and phrases are different.

Your tomb is the same to you each time you enter it.

All passages seem to be two way. You should be able to return to the room you came from. The door may not be in the same position, but one of the doors will return you.

There are three library doors and one statue room in each tomb. In the libraries, you can read a scroll, but the effects haven't been found yet. The statue asks for a prophecy, but the correct one hasn't been found yet.

If you read a scroll, you can't enter for 12 hours. If you get caught in a trap, you can't enter for 1-3 hours and your pet may temporarily be turned to a pile of sand.

If it turns out that the doors change everytime you go to the temple I'm going to be very, very upset. And possibly depressed. I'm mapping it out and it's ridiculous how many rooms there are.

The rooms seem to be the same each time I have gone into the temple. I've only been in the temple 3 times, though.

Not sure what will happen at the different times of day, though. The different entrance pictures might mess with things. I hope not.

Well, I finally found a library. I'm not quite sure how I got there though...I read a blue scroll with the eye symbol as that is one of the symbols on my tablet. Someone else mentioned that if you go to the .swf version of the fortune teller, they saw a rotating scroll. After going to the library and reading a scroll, I now have a rotating scroll too, though it is not the scroll that I read. The rotating scroll on the .swf version has a yellow seal with the chick. I have no idea what ths all means yet...quite mysterious.

You don't have to go to the library and read a scroll. It's there for everyone.

Hmm, I can't help but hum the Zelda: Link to the Past dungeon music when going through the tomb :P

I took one step and wound up in a water trap. Darn. Oh, does anyone know how you're supposed to find this temple?

I posted this in the last thread ... but I will post it here again.

There is a banner ad that appears that will take you to the temple. It appeared for me while I was poking around in the Lost Desert. You can see the ad yourself by looking at the link below.

That's how people found the temple in the first place.

The real "ad" on the neopets server is located here: TEMPLE BANNER AD

Were the statue rooms found in hallways or doors?

I must have missed something... What do we accomplish by reading scrolls from the libraries? Do we get an extra symbol on the tablet filled in? I did read one scroll, but I honestly can't remember if i had 3 or if i had 4 symbols to begin with (I have 4 now...)

It is unclear what reading the scrolls does in the library. You started with 4 symbols on your tablet ... reading a scroll did not fill it in.

There is clearly more that needs to be figured out. I have no new stunning ideas, though.

hmm.. I have an idea... You read th scrolls with the same symbols as on the tablet, once you read all four, four more spaces get filled in, you then have to keep reading scrolls untill finished....

Just a crazy thory that could be as worthless as a sack of 50 Million neopoints. Sigh...

The worth of a sack of 50 million NP, when referring to a plot, means that you, and only you, figured out the puzzle, and got a massive prize as a result ;)

Well, that is along the lines of the theory I have as well ...

I'll give my silly theory. :)

There are 3 types of doorways that lead to library rooms. Behind each door, there are 4 scrolls. The scrolls behind the door seem to be the same each time. So, there are 12 scrolls total.

Read all 12 scrolls ... then you will be able to fill in the tablet.

Sort of makes sense ... since you are gaining a little insight each time you read one ... perhaps you just have to read all 12 before you can completely piece it all together.

Just a random thought. :)

::Gulp:: I just had a horrid thought -- what if we have to read all 12 scrolls . . . in a particular order?
