Gmail Invitations

For those of you who cannot seem to get rid of your exorbant amount of invites, I have discovered a solution.

The story of my loserdom begins with Gmail. Does anyone else want the space counter to stop already? Seriously, who needs 2077MB of space. At least it's slowing down, I notice.

Anyway. As most people know, Gmail gives 50 invites to pretty much everyone, and will reset your number of invites after a period of time, regardless of how many you use. I was down to 46 for two days before it went back up to 50 again.

I have tried many things to get rid of all my invites. I send them to everyone, give them to donating sites, everything I can possibly do. However, it's not enough, and I can never seem to get below 46 invites before it shoots back up again.

At one point, I became desperate. I thought I never could get rid of all these wretched invites, so I was left with one new option:

Create a new life. Or 50.

I made a new Gmail account with a made up name and location. Then, seeing the potential in such a waste of time, I decided to create the person.

My first fake person was mailto:candi.cakes@gmail.com. Since creating the email about a week ago, candi.cakes has evolved greatly.

Candace Lanstrom was born on June 24, 1986 in Seattle, Washington. She's a typical reclusive college freshman at the University of Washington, intent on majoring in psychology, then later attending medical school to become a psychiatrist. Her favorite artist of all time is Elliott Smith, with The Velvet Underground in a close second.

Her hobbies include reading, surfing the Internet, writing and never finishing short stories, and people-watching from her fifth floor studio apartment. She would have had a room in the dorms, but her parents urged her to live in the "real world." Despite this, she still is within walking distance of the campus and eats all her meals there.

She has frizzy brown hair, blue eyes, and is around 5'7". She isn't a standout in the school, but she does have some friends.

Note to self: Create friends. I need to do this pretty quickly.

She wakes up early each morning, no later than 5:30. Her first class is at eight, and she is famous amongst her friends for her 10:00 lunch. Normally at that time, her friends are sleeping or barely starting classes. Since she's often alone at this time, she takes her iPod to the cafeteria, sits in a corner with a book and tuna sandwich, and lets herself disappear in her preoccupations.

The name 'Candi Cakes' was given to her by her high school classmates, more to be ironic than anything. Since then, the name has stuck.

I created a LiveJournal for Candace, too. Only one entry has been posted so far, but I have high hopes for her. I think she can go far.

This is what happens when you have too much time on your hands.

I've got 50 Gmail invites. Just PM if you'd like one (and Gmail is totaly awesome!!) so I'd really reccomend it if you're still using Yahoo or something like it *pokes 2 GB of space and counting*
