Tip for anyone having trouble timing it so they get their numbers just right, because they go up or down too fast: Start with a higher quantity than you need, because it will go slower. Then split it to the amount you need.

This may seem obvious to some people, and someone may have mentioned it earlier today, I don't remember. But I just thought of it and had a forehead slapping moment. XD

This pet site has a list of solutions for Potion 5 step 3, and it looks sound. I'm going to test it out for my combo of Enchantment and power and see what's what.

That's the one I was talking about. Be careful, it has errors, at least with the Bronze Sansam, Baabaa Wool, and Bloodfern. The values are right, but not always for the right properties. Try stuff with small quantities and double check before mixing.

To be technical, that just means a point with infinite magic density (because it's squeezed into a very small volume, not because it's made up of infinite magic).

I followed the Method http://www.neopets.com/~CountCrankaroo had for my 3rd potion:

Quantity: 5 grams
Relevant property: Enchantment
Target value: +300 +/- 1
Relevant property: Power
Target value: +300 +/- 1


The method was as follows:

1g Babaa Wool
Soak, Desiccate

1g Madvine
Burn

1g Nova Essence
Desiccate

1g Crushed Jurpleberries
Burn, Desiccate

1g Random unaffected element.
I chose sharpgrass. It's pretty.

My end results:

Miscellaneous Composition

Quantity: 5 grams
Conjuring: -84
Divination: -144
Enchantment: +300
Power: +300

My conclusion is that CountCrankaroo's methods are sound, and his page probably has your solution as well.

Composite #2:

Special: Spectral Essence
Quantity: 23 grams
Relevant property: Conjuring
Target value: +275 +/- 1

Composite #3:

Quantity: 12 grams
Relevant property: Enchantment
Target value: +69 +/- 2
Relevant property: Conjuring
Target value: +104 +/- 2

And it didn't work!! What did I do wrong?

I'm catching up, so maybe this has been asked but I didn't see it....

If I have to make 23g of Spectral Essence, do I use a proportion for the ingredients?

i.e. 20g bloodfern=80%, 5g leafy=20% --> 23(.8 )=18g (rounded down) bloodfern ?

For these I'm guessing you burn/soak/crush/dessicate or whatever to the max?
