Yeah, sorry. I got a little ahead of myself.

I was just playing with the "controls" noticed the list of catagories they have available.

Background
Background items
Backpack
Collar
Earrings
Foreground items
Glasses
Gloves
Hat
Hind Cover (presumably for four-legged pets)
Jacket
left-hand item
Markings
Music
Necklace
Right-hand item
Shirt
Shoes
Sound Effects
Trousers
Wings

I was also able to pull up my jetsam items on my gnorbu, but they were greyed out.

I'm wondering whether I ought to be hoarding clothing myself. On the one hand, on the tutorial screenshot it says, "Have you ever dreamed of actually dressing up your Neopet in the clothing you buy from Uni's Clothing?" On the other hand, it also says, "...you'll be able to customize your Neopet with new "wearable" itmes that will be available soon.!"

That makes me suspect that the wearable clothes will be new items not now available, but it's hard to say. I don't see how they could possibly make all the existing clothes wearable, there are just too many (and too many pets to put them on.)

On the other hand, I suppose the Subeta artists managed. They only had to make two versions of each item, but on the other hand they had a lot more clothes. And I'd be willing to bet a the recent Krawk day items will be wearable by Krawks... I mean, look at them.

I just wish the art was more flattering to Elephantes. If this becomes available to everybody, I'll never dress my elephante up if it has a distorted trunk like this:

Elephants look better with slimmer trunks like the royal girl:

The Kougras seem to look pretty awesome in the dollmaker, however, and the Aishas look alright. Xweetoks also look okay, for which I'm glad. Many of the species look much better , such as Ogrins, Korbats, and Eyries.

But, please, TNT, fix the Elephante art to not look so disproportioned!

They could simply redo all of the old items. I mean, it may suck if you have them in a gallery, but there really isn't any other use for them so it's not impossible.

Yeah, we call them pants here, too. XD

I always wanted to be able to dress pets. D: Now I can.
But I can't because I don't have a single clothing item. XD

EDIT - I can't find the link. D:

Except when they're skirts. :-)

Dunno: I was surprised to discover that Neopets doesn't have that many clothes - less than 300 according to Neoitems. Especially if not all items are wearable by all pets, it might be possible to make them wearable. I mean, they're going to have to have a fair number of items available when they open the system.

I guess we'll have to see.

They may create more when the system comes out of beta.
That's what Subeta did. :)

It's just in testing now, so they just want to be sure this works before they start messing with clothing.

My Xweetok is labbed to hell and back, then I used a potion and a fountain faerie quest to make her Pirate Xweetok. The only items available to her are the pirate stuff.

I think Im a little over excited but I only have my royalboy jubjub so I went and made a chia and it doesnt even have the option of being customized while my jubjub can. Could this be because I just made him?

It's funny how some boards treat this as a gift from high heaven, and others condemn it to the hot below.. They even started a petition against it on NP, on the merchandising board

I guess it could be fun to do more with your pets, although I'm afraid it would indeed affect the use of the paintbrushes, which are basically the core reason to play Neopets.. having the option of using clothes instead seems somewhat unnecessary

I'm not sure if the items available now are actually the items that will be available when it is released. It mentioned "new wearable items" in the little note that pops up. This leads me to think that perhaps the items that are there are simply there for the testing. I think you'll have to buy wearable items. I don't think this will effect paintbrush prices much (if at all), but those wearable clothes will be expensive.

Yeah, I'm irritated that you can just dress your pet up in royal or pirate clothes to get the same effect as those paint brushes. It would be one thing if, using the above screenshot as an example, a red jubjub wearing a royal cape simply looked like a regular red jubjub in clothes, but it takes on the features of the real royal jubjub. I don't think the redraw effect is necessary. :x

This... looks all levels of cool. Anyone tested it out on a Hissi yet?

If your pet is painted can you only mess with the clothing it has (Desert, Island, Royal, Pirate) or can you add a little bit of everything? If they're basic do you get to use everything? What about Plushie pets or Mutants with multiple limbs/heads (Krawk, Hissi)?

I really hope this is for everyone, because I REALLY like it - but it alone is not enough to make me pay for premium.
