I got my pinky slammed in a door for a minute once. It was my friend's birthday party and I was like 6, and we were trying to keep the boys out and my pinky got caught when they slammed the door. I was screaming and crying, but no one could hear me because everyone was being noisy. Finally one of them noticed. I think I just kept ice on it.. I don't really remember.

Are you sure your pinky isn't broken? Can you bend it? If you can then I would just put ice on it and that finger splint thing is probably a good idea.

My mom likes to "Piggyback" our fingers together.
When we hurt a finger she tells us to tape it to the one that is stronger beside it.

Me and my friend play that, only we play Ping-Pong and Bloody Knuckles. Its the same, only you put your hands flat together, and take turns smacking the back of each other's hands until one quits. Mine gets as red as the bars on the SubRed Template on here, but I love the game. Bloody Knuckles is where you smack your knuckles into someone elses, until someone chickens out.

As for your finger, I say leave it in the splint and either keep it out of use, or do the 'piggy-back' like Adam said. It works.
