"Apple blossoms blowing in the old man's hair. One caught in the dent below his Adam's apple, caught there like a jewel that was pretty simply because some things were and couldn't help it, but was gorgeous because it lacked duration: in a few seconds it would be brushed mipatiently away and left on the ground where it would become perfectly anonymous among its fellows."
Eh, Stephen King has his moments ^_^

i've read lord of the flies. i loved it. when i had to read it for school it was a bit slow, but on my own it was a lot better. i should go find a book to read. maybe neopets will be back up tomorrow.
if you like mystery type books, read a james patterson book... make sure it has alex cross in it. those are the best. hmm, maybe start out with along came a spider, or kiss the girls.
if you like historical type books i read this series clan of the cave bear.... i wouldnt really call them historical but they have cave people in it. its my favorite series. i think i like them better than harry potter. lol.
and for harry potter lovers read his dark materials series. they are the best!

If by coping, you mean, "have you avoided a straitjacket?" then yes, lol...

Anyone know if they got the news for the 5th up before the site went down?
I haven't been on since about 4pm EST, and it wasn't up then.

I miss my RS and Chat boards... I might be the only one with that sentiment, though. Haha.

Well the front page talks about a new game so I am guessing the news is now up but we can't get to it, I don't think it was up when the site went down though. I am going to have to restart plushie tycoon again now if it doesn't come back up in 9 min lol oh well at least its just the start of the month.

I was 110k away from a GSword, with a whole slough of stuff in my shop ready to sell. I'd just gotten a taste of the new Garden items they released yesterday. It's all very anticlimactic.

I need to check my PT game before I hit the hay. Sheesh! I am POSITIVE this also happened the first day of the last PT game, too!

His Dark Material's by Pullman are really good, but they're kind of anti-religous, so I wouldn't recommend those to anyone who was very religious. However, you might want to try something by Diane Wynne Jones (I'm rereading her Chrestomanci books).

...he said something like that.
His early writings were good. Then he got too commercial and had to put a spin on everything. Dead Zone was my favorite. Ah, and, of course, the Shining! "Here's Johnny!!!!" Everytime, I hear that, I can't get the image of Jack Nicholson swinging an axe out of my head. Great thought right before bed, eh?

Wow, just read through all the posts, checked the first page and the site's been down for around 4 hours now! Wonders if this is another 12 hour or so twitch-a-thon...
Oh Mists of Avalon is a wonderful book! I read it when it first came out. If you like her books, read the Firebrand if you haven't yet. The follow-up books to Mists weren't as good, IMHO.
I'm going to sign off, since I can't get onto the site. At least I did get things done early this morning since I was wide awake, feeling crazed but awake enough to feed/lab/play some games (insomnia's ...wonderful? I didn't sleep at all last night).
I'm gonna go read, I'm reading The Sparrow. Tough book to get through for me, it moves very slow but I'm determined to finish it. Now's as good a time as any.
LOTF is classic, had to read that in school a thousand years ago and it was rough, it's better to read when you don't have to. Let's see, Charlotte's Web, Animal Farm, 1984, Farenheight 451, Stranger In A Strange Land are all books I had to read in school and have reread so many times, especially Stranger in a Strange Land - the auther slightly rewrites it every so often. I'll read the newer version, then the original to look for the changes. I also like Brave New World, the Foundation series, the Dune series and just about anything by Neil Gaiman (Sandman series! =), Neverwhere and American Gods are the best so far). Oh, and the HP books of course!
Good night all! Hope you have a great day, a good night, sweet dreams depending on where you are...
