Went with Carto as well.

Day 1: RRR - 10,000 NP

...not a bad start!

Day 2: RLR - 2469 NP!
Day 3: LLR - 918 NP (meh)
Day 4: LRL - 2331 NP
Day 5: LLR - 891 NP (more meh)
Day 6: RRR - 1423 NP
Day 7: RRR - 2176 NP

Net: 17,408 NPs

I think you only get a consolation prize if your faction loses and you met the minimum. Choosing the winning faction, but not meeting the minimum gets you nothing.
