I was watching Disney (Bug Juice was on) but now I'm watching Cartoon Network (Cowboy Bebop). There is nothing on television on Saturday nights.... errr.. mornings.

I've got it on CN, too. I've seen that episode of Bebop at least 10 times, but its still one of my favorite episodes. :)

Unfortuently, I only turned to it at the end. I've seen it before, but still. Trigun is on next, don't really want to watch that (I like watching shows from start to finish, I doubt this is the first episode and I haven't seen it before.)

If it hasn't, it's possible that that's what's happening now. As far as it being in the middle of the night, and on a weekend to boot, that makes no difference. I worked for 15 years for one of the leaders in database design, construction, and maintenance, and a lot of our programming was done in the middle of the night. We staggered worker shifts, so there was usually a number of workers on the weekend, and no, they were not paid overtime. You only are required to receive overtime if 1) you're not salaried, but on hourly wages, and 2) if you work more than 40 hours in a 1-week period.

o.O you worked for neo?

*laughing hysterically* Goodness, no, I've never worked for Neopets! The database services company I worked for created and maintained databases for various corporations, government agencies and the like. If Neo was over 15 years old, Adam and Donna would have been creating their site when they were leaving Elementary School, lol... ;)

I'm on AIM watching the pretty flashing buddy list, and reading up on the forums... kinda weird, the bond that develops among forum posters... I wonder if it's due to a common interest or a common enemy (the red pteri).

Yes, there have been numerous articles in Technology newspapers and mags the past couple weeks about it. This is undoubtedly why Donna said in the Editorial last week that soon there would be very few Red Pteri downtime pages. Here's one of the articles (from the Web Host Industry Review):

Neopets Moves to Equinix Data Center

July 15, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Equinix, Inc. (equinix.com), a provider of network-neutral data centers and Internet exchange services, announced on Wednesday that Neopets, Inc., a global media and entertainment company, has reached an agreement to locate at Equinix Internet Business Exchange data centers, in a move that Equinix says will reduce Neopet's overall network connectivity costs.

Neopets runs the youth phenomenon Neopets.com, an online entertainment site in which members must maintain the health and well-being of their "virtual pets." With more than 77 million registrations (created by an estimated 23-25 million users) and seven billion page views per month in the last four years, Neopets is a quickly growing Web site.

Equinix's aggregation of carriers, ISPs and other network service providers allows content providers to cost-effectively execute strategic connectivity agreements with key business partners within a highly secure and reliable environment.

Through direct interconnection within the same facility, content providers can cut costs as well as the performance degradation associated with linking to multiple partners over great distances, resulting in lower connectivity costs, an improvement in end-user performance and an increase in reliability and redundancy.

YOUTH!?!?

I'M NOT A YOUTH I'M A MAN!!!

...(plays Meepit Juice Break)

It is 4.30 inthe afternoon here, so I have no worries. I have played a game this morning though, that I got a good score, and I am waiting to send it, hoping to get a trophy. I pray that my computer won't hang or anything, and hope it woud go online before trophy handout at 4AM NST. And I have one game I have been practicing that I would like to try out for a trophy.

If they do outsource database migration, I think it won't be long until we go back online. I have friends with similar jobs working on the weekend before systems go online in a busy business day - Monday. I just hope it is just a case of systems migration. I hope they did not do something big that would cause a rollback, or even a security breach!

Ummm, no offense, but speaking in chat speak isn't really done around here. But, I seem to recall that you were already told that?

EDIT: And, now to more serious business:"youth phenomenom"? Does anyone in the real world have any idea just how many adults play Neopets? If they did, the Disney ads would be replaced by Honda and Charles Schwab ads--after all, we are the people that actually earn the money that our kids are always trying to get out of us.

Bah. It's 1:40 AM here, I should go to bed, but I have not yet. I can't watch any TV in here, so I am spending my time staring at my dead AIM conversations from at least twelve hours ago. I'm almost bored enough to bring my warning level back to 100%...

Geh... I guess when it's this late I start having stupid arguments, and people start giving rude rebuttals... (not this thread, another one)... so maybe I'll just go to sleep and...

...ooh! Snowmuncher just loaded ^_^

Waaaaah. I soooo bored. Why did I agree to go with my brother to the airport at this ungodly time in the morning? There's nothing to watch on TV and I can't go on neopets? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh *more groaning noises and grumbles of aggravation*
