I have determined that the 10 minutes I spent playing with this on all of my accounts, was a waste of time. Nearly all of my pets are uglier than before. Perhaps, because all but two of them are redraws. Only three of my pets wear any sort of clothing to speak of, aside from jewelry and whatnot: my royalgirl flotsam, island kyrii, and royaboy kyrii. My flotsam doesn't wear her cape, and I haven't really decided what my island kyrii wears or even if she wears the grass skirt and chest armor at all. The only pet this would be even remotely useful for would be my royalboy kyrii. Aside from the fact that he's now uglier than sin, the only thing he wears is a custom leather Darigan jacket, and not all the time.
I'm happy it's optional and I never have to use it again. But, I have to admit I'm disappointed that this was the next big thing TNT had been working on. That this is the reason we've gotten crappy pet days and colors for the past year. Meh.

I wonder what effect this will have on lookups when it comes out of beta? Will we be able to see the clothes on other people's pets? Will it replace the lookup picture or be in addition to it? I'm very anxious to find out.
And I'd like to see pictures of these redraws you guys think are so bad, because all the ones I've seen so far are awesome.
With the exception of the hissi's wings being posed like hands. But you can see what they're doing there, they've made all the pets with hands like they're holding things, so we'll have items that they can hold.

That would be really intresting, Meer. Would that mean that the pet lookups would get a new format?

Wow, has anyone tried Printing yet? I did some earlier and they were exact square views of what I see on the screen. But I just did two more and the Backgrounds extend way beyond (at least in the Maraqua and Mystery Island ones I printed so far) but my Nimmo is cut off on the Mystery Island one. Seems like they are still fixing, adding, changing things...

I just did my Bori and Hissi with out a backround cause i'm real happy they way they look My other two I haven't printed yet I'm not as thrilled with how the items look on them. but you tempt me to print one with the backrounds.

Hm, the wings on the Faerie Buzz might just be a mistake. Maybe file a bug report?

The wings are the least of its problems. The first being that it's ugly. Those are the second and third problems too.

Now that Ive tried it, Im disappointed. I dont know what effect it'll have on paintbrushes, or how it will actually be implemented once beta is finished, but the way it is right now just seems like 'eh, ok?'
I get tiny images on the quickref page of mismatched pets who look nothing like what they originally were. My Halloween Shoyru just looks like a red Shoyru wearing a few Royal items. Shes not even in the cute Halloween pose anymore. And my Royal Draik was easily transformed entirely Robot, which defeats the purpose of 'lab-only.' The only cool one is my Marshmallow Grundo who looks pretty cute wearing pirate clothes. Im not a fan of the lidded eyes and long lashes though. Shes my tough battle pet, not a girly eyelash batter. (I just noticed that she had arms and legs too, which did detract from the cuteness of the mallow.)
I also definitely got 32 items to choose from when I did my Shoyru, and thats not including the backgrounds.

I'm definitely part of the camp saying that this new option really isn't all that great. At first, I was really excited about the idea, but after trying it, I don't think I'll end up customizing any of my pets. Maybe it will improve, but if it doesn't, I won't be upset about it. It'll just be one aspect of the site that I don't use.

I think they have a long way to go too. I am disappointed in some of the redraws. Some are so cute and I like them, but some of them look messed up. That buzz looks messed up. The grey ixi is ok, but it doesn't look as pathetic as the other one. It almost looks cheerful, just a bit sleepy. The pose kind of ruins it for me.
As for the kyrii, he still seems to have that "I'm better than you" look and the artwork looks fine to me. Of course, I don't own one, so I can't speak as an owner. I think it looks ok, but who am I to judge.
I would be very mad if my buzzes wings changed though. But maybe the wings part is something you have to add on or can remove at will.

Maybe they guessed? I don't know? Maybe there is another link floating around that lets you see what other people are using? That could be it. You'd have to check other neosites and find out.
