In terms of battledome items, they'll probably do all of the Full Armor series as well as the Species Battledome items. They'll do things like the Thoyra's Tear and other chains which are easy enough to put on every species

Staves (see: Staffs) and wands will be easy enough to code for most species thanks to the ugly fist pose.

After that, I suppose it comes down to make the coolest looking and most popular ones available then ignore the rest.

If you have one already, they should let you wear the one you have. What if the new one was easier to get or less expensive. That would stink. People would be very upset if the prices deflated because some wearble things were easier to get.

Well, the thing is - who's to say that they're going to remake all of it? They might allow a few things but I really think they'll just add MORE items sold through Uni's and Battledome Supplies instead of redoing the old junk.

And I highly doubt a wearable item would ever end up being cheaper than its non-wearable counterpart.

The only problem I have with battledome stuff being veiwable, is anyone can see what you are about to use, and then pull out items that would counteract it, spoiling the surprise and your ability to totally PWN someone.

That's a choice you have to make I guess. Or perhaps you don't have to use your equipment currently equipped (though that has problems in terms of tricking people into thinking you're going to be a pushover).

Personally, I'd deck my pet out in battle gear. I don't 2P, so I don't care :P

That is, of course, assuming I don't find a much cooler looking set of clothes.

Hmmm, pirate items and a big freaking sword! Not to mention my RotL...

Very true. Wonder if they've thought of that? Perhaps you could choose whether or not to show an equipped item?

I think if you simply equip your item, it shouldn't make it visible, but who knows. Anyway, I don't think it would be a good idea to display what you were about to use. But then I could see a scam going where someone equips a bunch of crud and they have that veiwable using the customization screen. But their real equipped items are very rare and powerful ones. Then someone might fight them thinking that what they saw was what the person had, then they would loose. So if they did that, I think it should be sort of like a scam. But maybe it would be allowable. I mean, people would have to take a risk. Maybe what they see the pet wearing on the quick ref is what it will use, and maybe not. I don't know if it would really be a scam or not, or just tricky and a risk you'd have to take. Because no one says you have to display what you are planning to use. But displaying really weak stuff and then using strong stuff seems tricky and underhanded.

It might be underhanded, but I don't think this would count as a scam because everyone can do it. It's just one of the risks you take when you battle.

It would be comparable to if I had a low-level, unpainted pet without lookup/petpage, and I didn't do much to my account so that I looked like a newbie that would be easy to defeat. But then in battle I unleashed a ton of suuuuuuuper expensive and powerful weapons. That's kind of obnoxious of me, but it's not a scam, because my opponent and everyone else also has the opportunity to do the same trick. A scam would be if I bypassed the system and gave myself an advantage that other people can't have. This is just a (albeit not very nice) battle strategy. ;)

Edit: It just occurred to me - glasses! If this feature goes through, then I CAN MAKE A PET WEAR GLASSES! Ohhhhh my little geek heart sings with joy!

Since the pets are drawn piece by piece (i.e. the head or arms can "go missing") you'd probably only be able to grab a head or an arm or something... You'd have to reconstitute the whole if you want to go that route.

This sounds pretty neat in general. But 10 random species items doesnt seem very appealing to me. Why would I want to put an island tattoo, a disco medallion, and a robot arm guard on my Halloween Shoyru? I'd rather get a random selection of Halloween related items, and then have the option of purchasing the ones from other 'sets.' Witch hats, capes, a spooky aura surrounding the pet, different colored pitchforks, strange vials, and so on would be a lot cooler than a mismatched...weird looking thing.

By the way, it would be so cool if I could drizzle chocolate over my marshmallow Grundo -nudges TNT-

I think the "10 random pieces" thing is just to test with. You'll probably have to micropay the real clothing.

Does anyone have a picture of the redrawn Baby Lupe? I'm a bit worried =|
Some of the new pets are much better, but most are... eeeewww ._. And that unluckily includes all my pets (kyrii, yurble and xweetok). I hope that at least the lupe is safe ;_;

I quite like the idea of personalizing my pets, but I don't think I would pay for it though. I'm also worried that people might get confused with the uni clothing. I can already imaging people scamming newer members by saying you can actually dress up your pet with those clothes and ask really high prices for them.

I really like most of the redraws, but is it just me or does it look like the xweetok is making a rude gesture? o_O

Link

You can use this (rather long) link in order to see how your pet will look. I got this from Sunnyneo. So anyone doing a pet color finder thing that was asking about this, this is the link you need I guess. You'll have to ask around for names of pets in the colors that you need to see.

Thu Apr 19, 2007 1:53 pm

That's great. :D Jellyneo's pet list can help a lot, but I think I'll stay away from the petfinder... Seems like it wouldn't be worth all that work.

What do you think are they going to do with pets that are significantly changed already from their "normal" states? Example, I have a baby mynci and there are no test items for him because none of the regular mynci stuff will fit his tiny, big-headed body. Not to mention that on the lookup screen he's NAKED, with no jammies, and crawling, so he'd have no way to hang on to equipped battledome items. I wonder if he's just doomed to wear bibs and different colors of sleeper sets for the rest of his customized life?

And ACK! the redrawn lenny! After I saved up to paint him pink, he better not be stuck in such a terrible pose! He looks like a cheerleader or something.

EDIT: For reference, My mynci is "Merimble" and my lenny is "Liefennimus".
