The level will actually get drastically lower. If you want one specific color and species, then I suggest you should wait as the lab raises HP well beyond the limit of 2x your level, and you may not get the right color. It will definitely harm you in the long run, although I have labbed mine so badly out of proportion that I could really care less what happens.
So I might suggest you finish training and the DoN series before you zap because it may cause some serious damage or unbalancing in your pet. And it usually takes a while to get a good color or species change.

And one final note, this is the last day I am zapping as I am going to try to train my 54 levels to match up to my HP. And then I will do defence and strength. Bye bye lab!

I have been labbing and training at the same time since August, have mostly had to train level and defence. The lab takes care of the HP and most of the strength for me
and she loses 2 movement points!!!!

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll wait till I've finished the DoN series before thinking about the lab. Or, who knows... I just might get a FF quest. *cross fingers*
