Huggles wrote:But that's not how it's worked before. I mean, obviously we haven't done this before, but in war/plots/puzzles you've frequently gotten the lesser prizes along with top reward. If you defeat either one on every launch day, that automatically satisfies the Spifftastic requirements and it makes sense that you would get that prize too.

TNT are always using different options on how to award prizes. We didn't get any additional prizes for the last challenge.

Each daily challenge we get a prize, so I highly doubt we get more than 1 'bonus' prize.

Think about it: You cannot win in more than 1 category - either you win against AAA in every game the day it was launched or you don't.

Well I just compared my high scores to the two challengers, and there are...
-13 games I've never played before (So I'll try for Abigail)
-5 games where my highest score hovers just around AAA's score. (I don't know who I'll go for on these...)
-5 games that I know for sure I will be able to beat AAA. (AAA)
-5 games where I am right in between their scores (Abigail).
-3 games where my highest score is BELOW Abigail's  (Abigail)

The way I interpret the categories is:

1) Beat AAA every day.
2) Beat somebody every day.
3) Beat AAA for every challenge (I think you can play Day 1's game all the way until Day 31 etc.)
4) Beat somebody for every challenge (same)

Sooo looks like I'll be going for 2 and 4. But for those who go for 1 will get 2-4 by default I guess.

Edit: Err I'll be going for 2, 3, and 4? I don't know. But I'll do my best every day and see what it lands me.

I am thinking, that's why my head hurts. You're right, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong. You either defeat AAA on launch day and get all four, or you miss a day and do not get the uberific prize. By choosing to challenge AAA on any launch day, you're basically risking the chance of only earning two prizes if you lose and by only challenging Abigail you can only earn 3.

Thankyou Metalmario for simplifying it. I just couldn't quite put it into those terms. :)

I am going for 2. I am online everyday, so hopefully it will all work out.

I think you're overthinking this Huggles....

1) Beat AAA on each challenge ON THE DAY THE CHALLENGE IS RELEASED
2) Beat AAA OR Abigail on each challenge ON THE DAY THE CHALLENGE IS RELEASED
3) Beat AAA on each challenge BEFORE 31st March
4) Beat AAA OR Abigail on each challenge BEFORE 31st March.

That means people who aren't so good at maybe one of the games listed still have a chance of getting the second best prize. Otherwise people who weren't good at just one of the games would miss out on getting any prizes at all (other than the individual game rewards).

I don't think you have to pick one and stick with them the whole way through as you (in theory) have no way of knowing which games are coming up and if you try your best and dare AAA for the first few you'd be immediately disqualified from any of those prizes if you came up against a game you weren't very good at and couldn't beat his score.

Making any sense?

Edit: people beat me to it

Exactly. That's what I'm saying is the case. Which would, again, suck. So, I'd really like TNT to specify by saying whether or not it's possible to get more than one additional prize.

I think that is why TNT put this is:

There are additional prizes for the true gamers!

Only those people who are good gamers will get additional prizes. That means you have to put in a real effort - winners all the way.

That is why each game gives out a prize - so those who can't win every game still get a prize.

I don't think you can get more than one of the top 4 prizes. Uberrific is there to possibly allow you to get a nicer prize for the daily dare. For example say beating AAA gives you a 15 icon muffin and beating Abigail would only get you a 5 icon muffin. Wouldn't you be upset if because you chose to defeat Abigail on a previous game that you weren't entitled to the theoretically better prizes in subsequent days? The second prize is there so you can get the 'better' prizes if your up to the challenge on a daily basis. Also it'll reward better players who can beat some AAA challenges as opposed to players who can't beat a single AAA challenge.

On another note I wonder what prizes might be? Last time it seemed that some of the prizes given out were slightly random.

Thu Mar 01, 2007 5:09 pm

Indeed, although the randomness was kind of fun :)

I'd assume that as long as you beat someone each day you would be able to get the uberiffic prize, otherwise they would have said it was just for beating Abigail.

I assume there's two "levels" of prizes. One for beating each game on the day it's released (best prize for beating AAA every time, other less good prize for beating one of the challengers every day) and the second level being for beating every game within the month, with the same split of prizes on that level too.

That way you'd get the same prize for beating Abigail every day as you would for beating AAA (for example) 30 days and beating Abigail on one, although you'd get better "daily" prizes on the days you beat AAA making it worthwhile challenging him.

I'd class "true gamers" as people who bothered to complete all 31 games - remember we PPTers are relatively dedicated on the Neo front so what's the norm for us (ie. completing plots, doing all challenges etc) could probably be considered big achievements for the average neopian who doesn't play every single day (and then post about it on a fan site ;))

That's just my take on things, it obviously hasn't been confirmed but I think it's the most likely scenario.

Thu Mar 01, 2007 6:48 pm

Aww. I'm going out of town this weekend, so it looks like that automatically knocks me out of the running for the Uberiffic prize. :( It's nice to know I can still go for the Spifftastic, though.

Does it matter?

Yeah it matters to an extent. I was mostly just curious because it said I won double points, and couldn't figure out why. Then went to the games room, and noticed that D-o-M was the featured game.

So..
If we sign up for one of them and we can't do it.. Can we try for the other? Or are we stuck with the one we chose?

Thu Mar 01, 2007 7:10 pm

How/where can I see what the games for the next days will be? and what the scores needed for those games will be?

Stuck with the one you chose for that game.

CRAP... Well.. I need to make sure I realize this next time I choose.
This is going to take a while... :(
