I wasn't either but I'm glad I wasn't. If TNT starts freezing users for abusing a glitch than we could've been frozen.

Its over? No wonder the shops look empty. Thank goodness, though. I was getting annoyed having this happen the day after I got my high speed.

They should have the restocks be, like, every 2 or 3 minutes.

I second that. Slow connection users are disadvantaged in almost every aspect of the game, but restocking especially. They really should do something to make it more fair

to highlight how tough it was when restocks happened every minute (it was hell for me):
yesterday i was missing even the cheaper stuff, not to mention all the unbuyables. i got so frustratedthat i was beginning to think that there were more autobuyers than normal. to verify my thoughts, i switch from multi-shop restocking (up to 8 shops) to one shop restocking. i chose tyrannian petpet shop as it was one of the most competitive shop. there was no lag at that time but i didn't even manage to get a haggle for all the stuff even though i was refreshing so fast. it was so frustrating that i wanted to call it a day.
then, the restocks went back to normal and the effects were immediate. i restocked my first gruslen in 2 days in the first hour since the switchback and suddenly things just came rolling in. in fact, restocks seem to get significantly easier that there were posts on the neochats speculating if the autobuyers were gone.
lastly, i must thank neopets for removing the awful "restock every minute"...it was very bad indeed.
edit: something else you might find interesting...remember that particular period where you can see those exotic item in the shops but couldn't buy? well, some of the players who got them and gloated abt it on the neochats were frozen for using "bots".

but can anyone think of any way it could be done??! if we can't think of anything better we can't expect tnt to!

The every minute restocks were terrible. I couldn't get anything half way decent. Every thing was flying away so fast that even when i refresh on time, i could only see the semi good stuffs which i can't even start to haggle.
You mean the time where upon clicking to haggle, the link was broken? What's bots? Oh well, let's hope that this few days the restocking will get better.

yeah the time when you can see all the good stuff but can haggle for them. some of them obviously got too greedy for their own good and wrote their own demise.

bots are refering to the auto buyer bots.
and i agree to making it fairer for slower connection people, i have a 56k connection which never hits that, its usually 46k max or 45.5k and once it hit 35.3k though thats rare thank goodness. i never bother restocking because of it, i play games, but its so slow and painful, 2hours gets me 10k on games because i have to wait for the games to load and everything. most of my nps gets made from scratchcards actually

autechre, I'm in the exact same situation as you! I was actually able to get a whole 3 items from the Igloo last night - 1 book, a tyrannian food (thought it was a mystery island Duh me) and a red yarn ball. That's it out of all those constant restocks! It takes forever for the code page to load and everything's gone. Games are how I have made most of my np. Now that my hands are getting bad, that has really gone down. I stopped playing games completely from April until about a week ago because I just couldn't use the mouse or arrow keys for more than 5 minutes before my hand went numb and kind of seized up. Now I'm playing a little, with a break in between each game, but only about 5k worth, when I used to make from 10k to 20k a day on games.
I use my voice program to "type" here for the most part, but I can't use that on the site (I'm so afraid TNT will accuse me of using a program and freeze me) and it certainly wouldn't work for playing games.
Maybe there could be something like the Igloo for those of us on dial up. Like maybe we'd have to sign up separately and only people on dial up who had signed up would have access to that particular restock shop for the slower connection people. Like we'd have a special code to enter the shop...just a thought?

its an idea, but how would they check your speed? you could say you had a dial up whne you had a fast connection...

I know, I thought of that after I posted above

, that people would lie to get access. I'm fresh out of ideas. I guess restocking and dial up are just not meant to be for many of us

i s'pose they could have connection speed categories and it pings your computer to actually test your speed or sommit before letting you into the correct shop for your speed... but then i spose ppl mite work out a way of making it think they had a slower connection than they did...

TNT did try to make restock fair for the players with slower internet connection. they put in those haggle pages, randomise the restock timing to make restock fairer but the problem is players with faster internet connection would always come up tops in restocking. maybe a fast-internet player with slow typing, poor eye-to-hand coordination or lack the nerve to react calmly when they see something good would lose to a 56k player with better reflexes and typing speed. however, a player who is generally fast, calm and has a superb internet conection would beat any change with the restock system.
