I wonder wether Eliv Thade is coming in somewhere, although we did already do the anagram
Are they really gone? I thought in the comics before they said that Sophie either didn't take the potion or wasn't affected, I can't remember which. And Bruno seems okay so far, judging from the comic.

Well, the last page imho indicates that sophie ran off, and you're left with Bruno, so okay, he's still there for sure, but I thought of him more like a side character. But you are right, we do still have Bruno

After the plot is over, I wonder what Neovia would be like? In my mind if this had been a real event that had taken place, I imagine that the citizens of the town would become very superstitious when it came to magic. Sophie would probably not be welcome in town, being that she is a witch. She will have to live on the outskirts of town, where there is a swamp.
The town's citizens would probably have such a negitive veiw of magic that anything magical would not be welcome in the town. The citizens would probably pride themselves on their scientific discoveries and their logical explainations for things that puzzle them. Really, this would stem from fear of magic, because they had a bad experience with it.
So they'd teach their children to like to read and not to exert themselves with imaginings and make-believe type games. Toys would be educational. This would become a place of higher learning without a trace of any kind of magic, although it would most likely still exist right below the radar. Most like with younger pets sneaking out of town to visit Sophie or to have a bit of spooky fun in the haunted woods.
It would have a bunch of nosey "Aunt Petunia" types of people who'd always be ready to catch someone who had an opposing opinion, who liked make believe, or who was wasting valuable time being idle. They'd probably frown on dancing, laughing for no good reason, picking wildflowers, ect. Being a dreamy-stargazer type of pet would be frowned on. In short, I think after this everyone would be like "Let's not talk about what happened. Let's get on with our lives and have nothing to do with magic, it is for the best." So I think it would become a kind of gloomy place. They could have another plot where everyone in town is kind of grumpy, stuck up, nosey busibodies. Then they could have a carefree young pet in town who always has his or her head in the clouds, who believes in mysterys and magic and that sometimes there isn't a logical explanation for things. And maybe that pet can bring a little good magic back into the town, and people can be happy again because they see there isn't anything to be afraid of.

God that sounds like my hometown. How depressing.

Yeah, Sophie didn't take the potion at all (because she was too innocent to want anything), so she isn't affected.
But Bruno....
....
Wait a minute. Why
isn't Bruno affected by this madness that's suddenly gripped the town? Is it because he was channeling the Spirit, and was technically out of "target range?"

He never
was affected by the potion in the madness way that the townspeople were. Guess he's just a good guy.

Bruno and Reginald were never driven 'mad' by the potion I guess because they wanted 'pure' things or had good intentions when the drank the potion. Bruno wanted to be strong and confident to defend people he cares about and Reginald just wanted to gain knowledge. I think 'cheap' wishes like being beautiful, rich, etc are what drove people mad in Neovia

I didn't get the sidebar either. Between dealing with the school's b.s., my twin's class halloween party, trick or treating and the fact that they both have pink from some mysterious sorce... there was no one a.m. (the time it was available here) for me.
So far it seems that we just have a comic release and nothing to accutally do huh? Bummer, I was hoping for atleast a new plot quest today. Guess I'll check back later.

Reginald turned into a monster too.
I think when the Spirit of Slumber removed the curse, he might have amplified the power of the potion, turning them all into snarling monsters. I just want to see where this is going...
Also, I hope the war opponents aren't individual characters. Remember in the CoM war, how you could fight Swordmaster Talek many, many times? That doesn't make sense. The enemies need to be repeatable, like Ghost Meepits or Insane Wocky Thing. I don't know.

I don't remember reginald drinking the potion though
Wed Nov 01, 2006 11:06 pm
He did - it made him smarter and he got stuck with books because nobody understood him anymore.

so reginald became incomprehensible, but not a monster...
he could help sophie out in the 'vanquish the enemy and restore the town' department, he's probably read more than enough books on the subject

Actually he did turn into a monster, see here in the comic:

I'm thinking that the Spirit of Slumber turned them into mosters (beyond their potion freakishness). The SoS didn't say he would set things right, only reverse the spell.
Of course, I could be going out on a limb here.

I am so far behind. I am stuck in the cave with the chair, mirror and lamppost. I put them in the room with light (I've tried both). It is close to the coordinates posted, not exact but very very close. I put the food down and then wander around. The creature comes but runs away and doesn't trip on the lamp post. I've been there forever. What am I doing wrong. Is there an order to doing this? Do the coordinates have to be exact? If so, how do I get them exact? ANy other tips?
