There are a lot of younger kids and even older adults who cant spell, or shorten certain words, but its almost never so bad that I struggle to understand. Even my great guild leader, a very smart lady and a mother, uses 2 for 'to' and stuff.
I don't know, the chatspeak can get pretty bad sometimes. And even when it's "not that bad" it's still annoying. I have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to chatspeak though.

Honest spelling mistakes and typos I can forgive, I'm not a good speller myself. But any chatspeak at all makes me cringe.
However I don't think they should get rid of the neoboards. I think they should keep them so that all the New Member have a place to congregate where they can easily be avoided. If the closed the boards the New Member would spread to other places, like forums like this. XD
Edit: 0_o I can't say the N word? Oops... sorry. Well I hope everyone understood what I meant. I meant really annoying people, not new members.

The only time I've been to the Neoboards is to get the Squawk avatar, to find someone to send me a Coco Roller code, and when I flirted with feeding Kads, to find the times to feed.
My brief ventures were hideously annoying, both from the chatspeak, the pointless posts, the "signatures" that went both above and below posts, and the huge post volume. I'd never post except for specific purposes: too many unjust freezing stories have started with, "I was on the Neoboards and..."
But, they do have their uses, and I'd hate to see the people posting there come here instead.

I usually don't go on the neoboards. Sometimes I go there for a bit of plot speculation (because there's some wacky theories that just won't make it to PPT), but most of the time I don't bother with them. All the times I've posted there, I've been double-checking my posts to see that they weren't the least bit offensive, and still got nervous.
I think they need the boards because otherwise the site would suffer a big cut in terms of user interaction, but I can't see a way to improve them without putting lots more monitors on them. They shouldn't have gotten rid of general chat, it was a wonderul way of piling all the spam in a single place.

No. It can be useful- advertising for your shop, talking to others about stocks, and the Battledome chat is also great.

Very good point!
Leave the Neoboards the way they are!

Oh god, no, are you crazy, if you remove the neoboards, they will come to the forums

Don't you know what happened when general chat was deleted?
(All the "newbies" and beggars invaded other boards)
And they can be usefull if you are a faerie quest

True but PPT's Neopets Help section and the board that Neopets guilds have are also useful for faerie quests.

I don't think I really care xP I never go there anyways.

I don't know about most people, but I don't take the Boards seriously enough for them to be anything other than entertaining. So I choose no, as it's quite fun to browse through the occasional begging/scamming boards and watch or even participate in the discussions.

I often have great discussions with decent people on my boards. Without boards it would be really difficult to lend to people.

Nope, they provide me with some light entertainment when I'm slightly bored. They lighten my day, and do no harm. If you wish not to use them, you do not have to. Also, some people are entirely reasonable, and are actaully quite nice.

The only times I used the boards were when I was not yet in PPT and I had no one else to help me with faerie quests. I had nothing but help come from it. I didn't even encounter 1337 speak. It's completely optional to go there.

I would say most of it is just people whining or just general junk that you can avoid from the title. There are some threads which are really annoying, and there are some threads that are really great. So I think saying all of it is bad is not being fair to a few threads which are great.
There are almost always people at the quests neoboard willing to help, and they don't get anything in return. Also, the plot neoboards have some junk on them, but there is also a good deal of help that goes on there.

It depends. I used to get loads of neomails asking me to join their guild when I had repeatedly said that I didn't want to.
I used to hang out on the help board but I kind of stopped when I discovered the Altador Plot...
If there were none of the spammy boards such as "All girls come here", then I might like the neoboards more

Either destroy them and all that reside in them (the intellegent few on there will always be remembered for their noble sacrifice) or just moderate and enforce law and order on them. There's no greater hive of scum and villany anywhere on the net. Well besides one or two places I know of.
