As he was not sighted at 6.00, then he had to of gone missing before 6.00. (To my logic, anyway). Smile
I had originally thought 6.00 but logically, if you have an argument with someone and you wanted to push them overboard, you would do it straight away and not an hour later..

yet... what if he was sighted at 6, and the one saw him at that time is the one who pushed him?

But we can only work with the clues given. As we have no way of knowing if Hoban was seen at 6.00 you would assume he wasn't.
