Can you be frozen for cheating at flash games?

Tue Aug 15, 2006 3:43 pm

Um.... hi... I'm new here, and this is probably a really stupid question, but I really want to know.

Is it a freezable offence to use cheat codes on the flash games? Ya know like you type in a certain word and you get more time/extra life/etc. Will you get frozen if you do that?

I thought you wouldn't, but my today my friend's account was frozen, and the reason they gave was "This account was found to be cheating on the flash games." O.O

If they freeze you for that, why'd they code the cheats into the games in the first place? I mean, the obviously purposefully put the cheats in the game, then freeze you for using them? That seems like... entrapment or something...

Welcome to PPT! As far as I know, you can't get frozen for using those codes, since TNT had to make them operational when they made the games. Perhaps your friend was playing games on more than one account or something? ::shrugs::

The builtin codes (that you get from the Wheel of Knowledge) are perfectly legal. In fact, you practically need them to get some avatars/trophies.
Any other kind of cheating at Flash games is a good way to get your account frozen..

Codes from the Wheel of Knowledge? Are those the same codes I'm talking about? I guess so, but I've never spun that wheel, I just got the codes from websites...

I didn't know their were other ways to cheat the games, and I wouldn't do that, I just use the codes.

Yeah, you can use programs to automatically play games for you, to send a different score in than you actually made, etc. It's all part of that hacking realm :>

i was frozen for cheating at meerca chase..i did an unbelievably high score..

and the problem was i was just lucky to find a lot of fish neggs..they freeze you automaticly if you score too high i think.

Was your score high score table worthy?

I once got a very high score on Meerca Chase and was given the message that my score was "being reviewed by staff". I certainly didn't cheat, and everything turned out fine - they gave me the np I earned and I never got further trouble about it - but it does lead me to suspect that there's some sort of automatic program that catches scores that are unusually high (I usually score 300-500 on Meerca Chase, but that time I managed something like 1200).

Many other people have claimed to be frozen unfairly for "cheating at flash games"; however it has never happened to me. If your friend thinks there was a mistake, she/he should contact Neopets staff. It is really hard to get your account back, even if it was frozen by mistake, but it's worth a try.

"Cheats" that are built into games are fine because Neopets staff made them; but cheats created by others are not okay. You should check that the cheats you get from these websites were created by the Neopets staff only, not by hackers. It might be that your friend used a cheat made by a hacker.

I know what you are talking about: every time I get a score that is good enough for the High Score Table, it tells me that my score is being reviewed.

Hmm, I don't have this problem. Then again I don't have scores high enough to be on the high score table :\

What a shame... Have you used the PPT guides to help you get better scores?

That's normal. All Flash games have a certain threshold above which scores are automatically 'submitted for review'. I think sending scores in very quick succession will also trigger this.

That would look suspicious if I were a godlike computer, too!

yeah, i have, generally I just don't have the time and patience between work and school to practice that much, so I'm mediocre at most of them. I just play them for fun. But I've never cheated! :)

I know what you mean. It is really hard to put Neopets in with everything else once school is going...
